Removing tie rod

I'm trying to install my Bilstein leveling shocks and for the life of me I can't get the tie-rod out to remove the stock coil and strut. I've hammered the crap out of the spindle to try to break it loose, used PB blaster and it will not move at all. Any tips?

tierod out of the spinde huh? Hammer. Hard. Liquid wrench, or whatever rust eat. Let it sit, then hammer the hell out of it. I took my rods out to put on the 3" coil overs from...I dont recall.

I replaced a tierod once, Haynes manual sucks for actually doing stuff to your vehicle. Just go at it man.

Already tried all that, I used PB blaster, let it sit for 2 hours and still nothing. I sprayed it again, letting it soak in right now.

Lots of rust? You offroad in water much? Honestly, to take off my discs to replace them, I went to TOWN on them with a 10lbs sledge. So long as you dont destroy something important, *shrug*....whats the big deal? Hit harder .

Here's the easiest way I've found to getting the tie rod end out:
  1. Spray some penetrating oil in there
  2. Put the nut back on but only far enough down (3-4 threads)
  3. Place a socket over the nut
  4. Pound on the socket with a hammer as hard as you can

Make sure to get the nut far enough down or you will strip threads on the tire rod end.

Well seems my hammer might not be big enough to break it free. I'm gonna grab a sledge tomorrow and give it a whirl.

I just used a standard nail hammer, but whatever. Be a man and hit the crap out of it.

They sell tie rod forks at autozone that you put at the end of the tie rod and hit the end of the fork with the hammer so you dont break stuff.
