Got me some 40's!

Well the next step on my truck was going to be painting the grey two tone white and doing a black/ white theme but it is becoming very popular on here so it wouldnt be anything new and exciting haha. So i decided to ditch getting black wheels went with a set of chrome wheels that i will show everyone sometime soon.

Now. i got myself a 3" body lift, there are some haters here on the BL's but its okay, i dont like them that much either but heres my logic on it, im airbagging the truck as some of you know and the rear is going to be easier to do than the front because of what i have planned to do, so when i do the rear my desired tire size is a 40" tire. i dont want to airbag the rear of my truck and wait another year to get money and plan out the front with 37's, and my 37's are getting a little worn down now so i figured first step would be get new tires. im not going to buy another set of 37's so a 3" body lift was in order in my opinion.

So i picked up some 40X15.5XR22's. i dont like the way 20's look on 40's. a 22" wheel to a 40" tire is practically the same proportion as a 20" wheel to a 37" tire. its tasteful in my opinion and if you dont like sorry. my truck will never see mud so i dont wanna hear your balljoint theorys or axle breaking theorys or anything like that haha, i never have my truck in 4WD so i dont care.

well anyhoo onto some pictures!

Sweet! can't wait to see them on. I bet those bad boys cost you some coin

Eff One Fifty May 28, 2009 08:38 PM

haha o yeah. cheapest i found after looking for a while was 610 a pop. not cheap by any means. but they are the baddest tires ive ever seen haha

4.6 Punisher May 28, 2009 08:50 PM

So you bought all new wheels and tires just for 3 inches?

Eff One Fifty May 28, 2009 08:53 PM

bahaha. i can tell you definetly dont have a lifted truck or understand the mindset of someone with a lifted truck that cares for what it looks like.

but to answer your question. yea i did. wouldnt you be happier if your junk was 3 inches bigger? yeah its a big differance. ( that is not bashing your junk size by any means just an example)

Can't wait to see the pics when you get them on, it is gone to look sweet.

OMG that's going to be some mad meat on there! Just wondering have you given any thought on what that size tire will do to the drive train? I've head people on here say semi-safe is 37's, pushing it on 38's, and anything larger is just asking for trouble. Not to mention you have to get bigger brakes. Anyways don't want to rain on your parade I'm quite excited to see this setup work with out any problems. Besides I've very interested in your airbag project. Details on what you plan to do there please!

Wow, 40s, what gears are you running with that meat? Looking forward to pics.

Damn you effonefitty, now you got me thinking about 40's on my truck now

Tylus May 28, 2009 09:11 PM

too big IMO

the 37's fit your wheel arches just about perfectly...the 40's are gonna seem oversized, like Big Foot

how the hell do you afford this stuff?

yeah but he is adding a body lift, so he will be the in the same boat as me,
11" of lift with 37's is not a good combo, i wish i would of went bigger

I agree that 37's will be small for that much lift total

but for me, the arch of the fender is the same shape as a 37...maybe 38" tire

those 40's are gonna be too big

will a 40" even stuff? or is it gonna hit the bottom edges of each fender and stop there?

edit: when you gonna get it all mounted and installed Eff one fifty? 40's + a F-150 are somewhat rare

dkgreyf150 May 28, 2009 09:36 PM

thats gunna look tight cant wait to see it

agadawg1717 May 28, 2009 09:37 PM

Can't Wait to see those bad boys go on. As the ladies say the bigger the better!

IORf150 May 28, 2009 09:39 PM

The 40's will clear, the only thing i would be worried about is how freaking wide they are, either way its gonna look badass
