Actuator Hubs

On my 04 Ford F150 4x4 FX4...It seems like my Actuator hubs are stuck in Half way...when i start my truck and start Rolling..i can hear the Ratcheting Sound coming from the front end..Is there a way that i can turn these off..I am not going to need my 4x4 For a while..and i cant afford to put on new hubs right now...

No, there is no way to turn them off. The default position for these are locked. If you are having problems with them then either they or the solenoid that unlocks them is bad or going bad.

You can get a solenoid from Tasca Ford for under $70 bucks. That is more than likely your problem. If I were you I'd change that now before you loose your actuator too. Your hub is unlikely going to be hurt. I changed my actuator out a few weeks ago and it took me 30 minutes. I had a bad seal on it. Actuators are not that much either just do not take it to a dealer they will give you a terrible quote on this.

Don't wait to get it checked. If you go too long with it grinding it will tear up the teeth in the IWE's (hubs) and they will have to be replaced.
