too much fuel ...

Twice now I have had my gas tank filled at a local station and when I pull away the guage measures lower than when I pulled in. The first time it happened I thought there was something wrong with the pump so I went back and had them try a different pump to see if the really put the fuel in. Clicked off right away. When I fill it up at other stations I don't see this issue with the guage. Is this common? Is the pump over filling my truck? When I leave the guage seems to sit below 1/4 even though its normally just above 1/4 when I fill it. Is this something I need to get checked out? Thoughts?

Do you leave your key in when you fuel up?

if you leave the key in the on position just to hear the radio as you fill up, it will stay the same, until you turn the key to off and then back to on again. then you will get the right reading on your gauge.

Ive noticed that if I fill up completly full from empty it takes a while for it to register. I dont know if it is so full that the guage cant register or what. But after about 10-15 mils it registers completly full. And during those 10-15 miles I can watch the guage move.

Nothing wrong with our gas, it's pure and clean. Just like our air.
