Protect New Grille Finish? New Wheels Rust Spots?
I bought a new grille, one of those off ebay that are made of the abs plastic with the "high quality chrome finish" haha
I noticed that in a few places it looks a little weird, you know how this cheap stuff looks after a while. I've only had it a few months though. I was wondering if there is anything I should be putting on it to keep that weird look (don't know if I'd call it rust or discoloration, but you get the idea) from spreading? or is it inevitable? In fact, on my new wheels (procomp xtreme chromes) I also noticed a spot on 2 of them that is not on the face surface, but in between the spokes, that looks like surface rust. Is that normal on wheels, though? Is the surface facing out the only surface that is really not supposed to rust or ? |
Is it rust or break dust on the wheels?

I'm not sure - it's still there after I clean them, a weird discoloration that isn't specks of rust, but more like surface discoloration, maybe I need to put some pics up -
I guess the issue with the grille is that the horizontal bars for some reason are already starting to discolor, something with the finish. But the surround (it came as all one piece) is still bright. I'm not sure why the center part is discoloring so fast. |
it's just cheap chrome, nothing you can really due but watch it go to crap.

I had a replacement grille for the Explorer do that. It's now almost like a gold color moreso than chrome and its pitting. Very annoying.

lol well, I don't wanna just watch it go to crap. Guess I'd better start looking for a better one now before it starts really bothering me.
