Ok what penetrating oil and anti-seize are you guys using? Also what plugs are you replacing them without, and where did you get all of the above? I know I know search is my friend... but I have searched and there is just too much to go through that it would take me all day to get this information. Plus, I like to hear new stories and NEW ideas. I know, I'm a sinner

Took it to my dealer. They have a very high success rate. They follow the TSB and had no problems on mine with 65,500 miles. Had no problems with another member here with 133,000. We both went back with Motorcraft and I plan on going 100,000 this time. My plugs were running great and still looked perfect at 65,000 miles.

They use the Ford carb cleaner and nickel anti-sieze. Don't forget the dielectric grease.

i used pb blaster, but aerokroil is better stuff. the new tsb calls for motorcraft carb cleaner i think, i would use either the MC carb cleaner or aerokroil, i got mine out with pbblaster, but why use something not as good. also the antiseize should definitely be the MC nickel high temp x5 or whatever

I used the Motorcraft Carb Cleaner that the TSB specifies but let it soak for a couple of hours.

My mechanic used some type of penetrating fluid and worked on it cool. Make sure the motor is not hot. The guy who removed them told me he just easily loosened it with steady pressure and he prayed on every plug. I only had 42k on mine and they all came out with none breaking.

I have changed mine 3 times with not one problem. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

The plug change, including the plugs, was $325. I also had the boots replaced, that was another $96.

Got all 8 out in one piece...
I drove the truck for about 3 miles, loosened all 8 and used PBBlaster, let it sit for about 30 minutes and started working on the plugs in pairs. The first 2 came out 'screaming'...by the last pair they 'squeeked'.
I used MC nickel antisieze and dielectric on boots, with the new MC plugs.

Just did a set on an 04 f-350 111,000 miles. No breakage using penetrating oil and patience. Replaced the plugs with OE's.

$135.00 worth of spark plugs to get 17MPG, what a f@#$ng joke.

Tell me about it I used MC Carb Cleaner and drove my truck for 20 mile's driving the gutt's out of it and let the plug's soak for an hour and still had one break. The porcelain and sleeve broke on the very back driver's side. Nine hour's battling with this dang plug and I still can't get it out.

I used aerokroil and let sit overnight, only broke one, had 98000 miles...patience is the key!
