To buy or not to buy?? 04 Lariat 4x4 need advice
I am looking at a 04 Lariat 4x4 screw with 68k. It is stock except for a hard painted bed cover and k&n air filter. This screw is extremely clean and after looking at several others from 04 to 08 i find myself always comparing the others back to this one because it is so clean. After reading these forums for the past several weeks i am concerned about the spark plug issue on the 04 but the price seems right on this one at 12K. I have found several 06's in the 15K range but they all seem to have higher miles and the interiors are worn. Also the fact that it is the first year for a new style concerns me. I have also been researching what it would take to hook an Ipod up and it looks like all the adapters listed do not include the 04 just 05 to 08. Just looking for advice?

I own an 04 Fx4. That sounds like a really good deal. Honestly the spark plug change isn't a big deal, even though it is a hassle. Finally, in regards to the Ipod hookup, I purchased a 2005 mp3 6 disc changer initially for the mp3 capability, and just recently purchased the pie adapter. I sold my 04 head deck on ebay for a little less than what I paid for the 05 head deck. Anyway, whatever you choose to do, don't worry about the spark plug/ipod concern they can all be overcome with relative ease, thanks to the help of cumulative knowledge of all f150online members.

Okay, so i am still looking to buy this 04 lariat 4x4 and the more research i do the more problems i find.. I seems like everything i want to add will not work with the 04. I am researching what extras i can put in the overhead rail system and there is nothing listed for the 04. I went to brandmotion and their rail dvd, bluetooth, ect, will not work with the 04. I have searched every ipod adapter available and none work with the 04.. everything seems to be 05 to 08??? any input would be helpful. I know i could always put in an aftermarket head unit but my last truck i had the ipod interface with factory HU and it worked flawless..
