Thats ok , thanks for the offer though. Im gonna soak this thing with pb blaster tomorrow morning and let it soak until friday, I'll give it a try again on friday afternoon after numerous spraying and soakings. I'll let youguys know how it goes, thanks for all the ideas and suggestions. the more I think about what a stupid problem this is the more it pisses me off.

Same thing happened to my dad's Jeep. We ended up saturating the receiver with breakaway and then tying up to a tree in his front yard with a chain. Took a few tugs but it finally came free. Actually had to jerk it a bit to get it to come out.

Well, we let the hitch soak for 2 days, used 2 cans of pb blaster re-applying every couple of hours and striking the receiver with each application just trying to get some vibration/movement in the hitch hopefully aiding in moving the oil up the shank. No luck, still wouldnt budge after 2 days. So the final outcome was had to put the truck on a lift, remove the entire hidden receiver from the truck. Put it in a vice on the floor and took a second hitch shank and drove it in from the backside with a 6lb sledge to knock the siezed up one out from the front. Then for whatever reason the one we drove in from the back side was easily pulled back out from hand. we have no idea what caused the othe rone to seize up in it, there was no evident rust and no deformation of either the receiver or hitch from the front side. Regardless, its out now with no damage to any parts, just have to buy a new hitch shank since we destroyed mine getting it out, so all is well...however it will bring a tear to your eye to have to remove the entire rear bumper assembly and receiver from your brand new saleen, fortunately everything went back together right with no damage. Thanks for all the advice everyone offered.

Happens all the time here in Upper Michigan, just take a torch to it on a lower setting and heat it up, have your buddy hook the chain up to it again, and pull on it slightly. After it comes out, go down to your local part store and see if they can order you a square wire brush made for recievers. Clean the receiver the best you can, grease the **** outa it, and your good to go!

?? We got it out.....and the upper michigan issue was probably part of it, I picked the truck up in Pittsburgh, then drove it to Jersey to pick up a bike my brother bought as well. We put the hitch in in Jersey to hook the trailer up to get the bike and it was in the 20's......got it home here in alabama and it was in the 60's. Im sure the temperature changes had something to do with it. When we got the hitch out the receiver was clean...no rust or anything. It has since been greased like hell just in case.....but I cant help but to think that the temps had something to do with it.

Me either man, I just ahve no other explanation for why it got stuck so I'm blaming it on that lol. LIke I said, 2 inch receiver, 2 inch shank, niether was bent/warped or damaged and the receiver was clean with no rust at all on the inside. I have no idea, I'm just glad its out now.
