There's a shop about 20miles from me that installs bodylifts. Apparently, he's never done one these trucks as he quoted me $300 to $350. Sounds like a good deal to me. I still may try to do it myself, but kinda afraid I'll screw something up.
i had mine installed, thats what they quoted me at first too, i said the same thing. i have the BDS BL it was $350 , labor was around $500

Sorry guys, but I'm going to be the black sheep that says no to body lifts at any time. I don't care if its stock with a body lift, or 6" lift with a body lift on top... I will always say NO WAY

Yes Animal's truck looks good, but several things are a dead give away. For instance take away the nerf bars and you will see plenty of frame, you almost have to have them to try and hide the fact it has a body lift. Next look at the bull bar, it should come out the holes where the tow hooks where. Anyone with knowledge of aftermarket parts would know its odd that its mounted under the valance....
The distance between the shock tower and the fender well, it does not appear he has a rear hitch either. Id assume if he didn't he took it off cause they are about useless with a body lift. Yes you can relocate them, but my understanding is that some payload capacity is lost. I can pick it apart all day long....

He also sold his truck not too long after getting the body lift and 40's so no one will ever really know how well it held up. Anyway, I don't have a body lift, nor will I ever. That is just me though

I'm on my third truck with a body lift and I've never had any type of problem. I've also learned little details over the years make a differnce with a body lift. The bottom line is this, if you don't like body lifts, don't install one. I know I see stuff everday that looks retarded to me (like donks and trucks with 24 inch wheels and brush guards and nerf bars) but I try not to rag on people.

I was referring to combining 22 to 26 inch wheels with off road accessories. Personally, I can't stand that. Or whitewall tires, or those old diamond plate running boards or..... well you get the idea. We all like/dislike different things.

Its all about what you like. I see some trucks with 8in or more suspension lift, and personally I don't like them. Some may, but I don't. I don't like rims over 18 inches, I don't like alot of chrome, I don't like bushwackers, and I could go on all day.

What I'm saying is just cause I don't like them, dont mean that its wrong. As someone stated earlier anything you do to alter a factory built truck is well...wrong. Its not the original, so its got to be wrong.....right?

1. the has the nerf bars on..... i cant see anything , but the side steps

2. im sure everyone out there is not an F-150 guru , hell the a good amount of ppl on this site cant even tell, the difference in seeing body vs suspension lifts. ( i know YOU can pick them apart all-day, but can you honestly say the majority of the average Joe's can? )

3. mayb his truck didnt come with the tow package

Yeah I love the look of your truck, that is why I am stilling thinking about them. But for people that want to keep their front towhooks what do they do? Also do you have the tow package, did you move your hitch? Lastly when you have your exhaust moved up, what does that entail?

Thanks

Lookin' sharp, man, I love the new steps. So when are you gonna paint your tips and tint your tails?

edit: What kind of bedcover is that? I like the low-profile look.

you can keep the tow hooks on if you want, i have the tow package , and it doesnt bother me that much to get it raised, and you can get an exhaust shop to move your exhaust up.
