DIY PTM DSG Handles (pics)

well i wanted to give this a shot so i ran down to napa and picked up the stuff i needed. T299 color match spray paint, tape, sand paper and news paper.< cheapest part lol

the tailgate was a snap very little prep turned out great

and done

Now the door handles were a different story they were a pain in the butt they kept bubbling up on me i dont know why maybe cause i had put tire shine on them a week or so ago but in any case PREP IS KEY that is somthing we all know but sometimes lack on. anyways heres some pics

to me it seems like there a hair darker. there are a couple bad spots but i still have to clear coat them and wet sand so that should take care of it

in the end it cost 15 bones and took about 2.5 to 3hrs because of dry time
not bad for a parking lot job and a rattle can

thanks, yes there oem i think that is part of why they cause me trouble i painted them once and sanded it all back off and sanded a lot of that grain out it would have gone better if i had heavy paper and i did that to start with

Don't know how you got in the recessed area without runs on the handle. Maybe you taped off the handle for painting the bucket. Looks very good to me.

They came out perfect looking from these pics? Is the color dead on or a slight bit lighter.

looks great ,

i wonder if there is a clear you can put on to truly match the paint or would that have to be done by a body shop ?
