Swap out factory wheel flares

I've been thinking about switching my dull plastic FX4 flares for the ones that come on the Lariat's, Harley and Limited because I like the painted look better (along with door handles). Has anyone done this or have any suggestions? I assume the dealer is the best route for these...

I did this, it is a direct replacement you just need to have them painted. I got a brand new set of harley flares off ebay for 180 shipped and I had my brothers body shop paint them. I love it, should have come like this from the factory

Perfect! My truck is already black so Harley flares could just bolt right on. Have you noticed them chipping a lot? Got any pics?

I got a set of take-offs from a Lariat on ebay for a little over $100. They were already painted black and were in perfect shape. All I had to do is get some more of those plastic christmas tree shape push pins to install them. When I got mine, I had seen a few other sets on ebay as well. I would try there before going to the dealer and getting a set that you have to paint.

If you decide to do this, let me know if you want to sell your FX4 flares. I am looking for a set of factory flares.

You can paint your FX4 flares you know, sand and prime them right and you could get it all done for a much more affordable cost.

I'm wanting to get a set of those also. If you can, let me know what you think of them when you get them.

Thanks
