33's or 35's??????
 

I recently got a 3 inch ready lift leveling kit, and i have some 265/70/17 maxxis buckshots. They are small and are wearing out and i'm about to buy some new tires. Should i go with 33 inch tires or 35 inch tires. I know that i might have to trim a little with 35's, but i was wondering if they are that much better. Or if they will cause my gas mileage to go down.

I've got a 2" AS Leveling Kit on mine w/ 315/70/17's that rub slightly after a little bit of modifying and trimming.

Tires are 34.36" tall when I do the calculations.

WIth a 3" level, you shouldn't have a problem with the 35's. Bone stock truck performance wise, just a leveling kit, ProComp wheels and the tires, I'm getting about 16 on the freeway and 14 in town.

All that will change soon though ;)

you should definitely go with the 35s they make a huge difference aesthetically and can only help you off-road, when it comes to gas mileage ....if it really matters to you then why did you get a truck, and if your saying its only 2 inches difference, remember inches make a lot of difference when it comes to trucks IMO the 33s just start looking small after a while

35's will hurt you as far as off roading goes! Ive had 33,34 and 35" tires. the 34's rubbed less than any of them. they were maxxis 305/70/17. Perfect size on leveled F150 IMO!! I liked the way they looked I just wanted to step up to 20's

For one there going to rub w/ just a small amout of flex! two...they hurt the power so bad its not funny!

I changed from 33'' AT to 35'' MT just for the looks.
Not sure if the truck is "heavier", it must be for logical reasons but I guess I didn't noticed and don't care so far.
Gas consumption I guess I can't notice a difference specially if is in the range of 0.5-3usd in every visit to the station, and the prices variations.

Overall I'm happy, sometimes I think it could be too much tire but I like it.

I like my 35's pro comp extreme A/T. With a 2.5" leveling kit. Minor rubbing at full lock. I vote for 35's.

35s

if mileage is a concern stick with 33's. if you tow often and don't plan to regear stick with 33's. if you want the biggest tire that fits and looks are everything then go 35's. if you plan to lift it soon, go with 35's and save yourself some cash. it just depends on what your going for.

I'd go with the 305x70x17 Buckshot's which are close to 34 inches tall. Or maybe a 295x70x17 Toyo MT which is a little taller than 33 inches. These will give a little more room when offroading and also a little less power loss than the 35's. Hope you have a 3.73 rear and a programmer for these heavy tires. Also these will fit on the stock wheels and look great!:beers:

I say go with 33s.

I would go with 33's or just slightly larger, especially if you do any towing, or if you are worried about a drop in mileage. Also for the most part I personally don't like the looks of 35's on a leveled truck, most of the time the tires look too big for the truck. But then there are trucks like giorgio's that look great with 35's, each truck is different imo.
