No more Cold Truck in the winter or Hot in the Summer!
Today I took the liberty of getting my own X-Mas gift, a Ford Remote Starter for my 2007 F-150 SuperCrew. Ford Part # 7L2Z-19G364-AA. www.tascafordparts.com. Having the unit installed next Tuesday! No more getting into a cold truck at 0610Hrs in the morning or a Hot truck in the Summer!.............
Just curious if this will work on a 2005 model? Does this kit include new Keyfob or Keyfobs to include the extra buttons needed to start it? I would like to add a remote start ot my 2005, but dont want to go through the hassle of picking through all the aftermarket companies.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Is it plug and play?
They are not plug and play, you cut and splice just like any other system.
Based on your part number, it seems you got the one-button keyfob starter. So you'll have to carry two keyfobs around.
This is the part number for the remote start and keyless entry system all in one 4-button keyfob: 2W7Z-19G364-BA
Code Alarm makes the Ford systems. So you could save money by buying the equivalent Code Alarm system CA-530 which is the remote start and keyless entry system all in one 4-button keyfob.

Sounds like a good price installed as I was quoted $390 installed for one on my truck from the dealership.
After a lot of research, I opted to go with the Code Alarm CA-671 2-Way Remote Starter / Alarm for mine instead though. Much more features for a better price, plus I can disarm the alarm with the door keypad. I ordered it from www.autoalarmpro.com . The same system installed locally was almost $700! It came prewired for my truck and with great instructions. Installing it myself, testing all the wires, etc... took me about 3 hours.
I also ordered a CA-530 for my wife's Mountaineer and that was just over $200 shipped. Install with that was even quicker since I already installed mine so I knew what I was doing the second time.
Overall, I am very happy with both systems and absolutely love the remote start feature. You will be very pleased with it.

I thought about getting a remote starter for mine, but decided against it cause of the extra gas it wastes. But it would be nice to have the defroster already working on the snow/ice before I go outside. Maybe next year.
I just bought one from Travis at kcautosound. I paid $300 for but I'm going to wire it myself. I don't feel safe with other ppl doing a job like this. I'm not installing it on my truck. I will be installing it on my girlfriends car, this will be her X-MAS present. I thought this was a good deal
Remote start was my first mod I did, the day after I bought the truck. I have a remote starter in every vehicle in the house, can't go wrong. Only cost me a $150, its not a Ford, but controls all my door locks as well. There's nothing like having the piece of mind of knowing when you go out to the driveway that the truck is nice and warmed up, all the moving parts are all lubricated, and are all up to operating temperature. That way you can mash the pedal right off the bat i fyou have to and not worry about putting wear on cold parts.
