P2004 & P2006 Codes... Help

I jumped in my '05 Supercrew this morning and after getting a couple miles down the street noticed a check enging light. I checked it with my Edge and got:

P2004 IMRC Stuck Open
P2006 IMRC Stuck Closed

The truck seemed to be running fine but I never got on it at all. It has the 5.4L in it. Has anyone else had this problem? I did a search but mostly found stuff for the older F-150's. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem, only I just get the P2004 code. My truck is setting at the ford shop. Here is a kicker. The extended warranty will not cover this. And ford wants $550.00 to fix it. I also can not find any info on where this runner control is or how to replace it. If I find out any info, I will post it asap.

I just had this fixed last month, It cost $100. The dealer said this is put in the intake manifold to help fuel economy. Mine didnt need to be replaced they said the clips that hold the arms that move broke. I was also told my extended warranty wouldnt cover it.

What extended warranty (level) do you two have? And is it a Ford warranty?

Did your truck run poorly? Mine didn't seem to but I am gonna drive it today to see if it runs differently.

$100 isn't bad to get it fixed tho.

My truck runs great. I'm not sure about the gas milage. It sucks anyway. I have an extended warranty through Zurich. I am still waiting to hear from the dist. manager. I told him if they would not cover this, I am going to cancel the plan. I did find where the imrc is and I checked the rods. They seem ok. All I could do is feel. I reset the computer and the check engine light hasn't come back on yet. Maybe it was just stuck. Fords estimate is "actuator-$55.00, 2 gaskets-$27.00 ea". So $108.00 for parts and 440.00 labor. This is why I bought the extended warranty.

My truck ran great, same as always. The dealer wasnt able to get to my truck for a week and said I could drive it with out no repercusions. I drove it every day. I even cleared the codes with the scangaugeII and they didnt come back for 2 days.

Hmm. Thanks for the help guys. I cleared mine this morning and it came back this afternoon but only the P004 Code came back. Saying it is stuck open. I guess I am just gonna leave it like this for now. Don't feel like coughing up the money.

The dealer told me that if I kept driving it, I would burn up my converter. I don't know. You buy the warranty and no coverage. Frustrating!!! I am going to pull the intake manifold my self and replace this stuff. Thanks for the info guys.

I just got off the phone with the corporate office for Zurich service contracts and they said only the comprhensive plans cover some emissions. So for those of you who bought the service contract when you bought your truck, don't expect alot of help when you need to file a claim. I am going in tommorrow and canceling mine.

Can you tell me exactly where the IMRC is located. I've got the P2004 code also. Which bank is bank one? Thanks

Did you see where those clips were on your engine. I have a 2005 5.4 engine. Thanks
