Cab Lights

I just bought the smoked ford superduty recon cab light kit. Went to my local ford dealer to have cab lights installed on my 2008 f150 fx4 with moonroof and they told me that it cant be done because the moonroof drain channel is in the way after they took interior apart what gives?? I called one stop truck shop they said six to eight hundred dollars to install.. no way I'm paying that! can these lights be installed with moonroof? and for a reasonable price?? thanks for info

I'm not sure what they mean by "in the way", but you might remove the liner and take a look if you're adament about having the light installed. It would be a tight fit in the corners where the moonroof and windshield are the closest together.

Simply answer yes they can be installed with the moonroof and most people can do this themselves. Most shops will charge an arm and leg to do it because they take a lot of risk with it not sealing well on the first try and the fact they are drilling into your roof.

If you look at the pictures I posted yrs back when I wrote this, you'd see pics of cab lights on a Screw with moonroof. I even talked about clearance issues the cab lights have with the moonroof

So yes, cab lights fit just fine. The drain channel is just a small piece of tubing that runs to passenger windshield pillar. No interference issue unless you somehow manage to nick it

Silicone is your friend. Get a good outdoor grade clear silicone that stays pliable. Be very liberal with it and cram the holes with it.

Also make sure to treat the raw metal with some paint. You can get touch-up at Wallyworld for <$10
