2 Questions about my 07

1. I always turn the a/c off in my truck b4 turning the truck off but when I do I hear a hissing sound for about 10 seconds coming from the front of the truck. Is this normal?

2. The negative terminal on my battery looks a little corrosive (I guess what's the word). I want to know how can I fix this or is this covered under warranty. How could a new truck experience this. The positive side is perfect. Could this be b/c I've taken the negative terminal off once b4.

is there something i should know..? i never turn off my a/c when i turn off the truck.
as far as the terminal take it in for a new one, and say that it has a hard time turning on ur truck sometimes so that they dont question you, or buy urself one of those scrapers.

edited: if i had warranty, i would take it in for any little reason. take advantage of it.
i also heard that corrosion is caused by the terminal not being tight enough, dont know if thats true.

2007 questions

First: the hissing that you hear is vacumn being released from the system and that is absolutely normalo. all vehicles with a/c do it, albeit some louder than others.

Second: as far as the terminal corrosion, mix some baking soda and water, use a toothbrush and go over the terminal completely. then rinse with fresh water. I use an old trick, I put a penny(copper) about 2 inches from each terminal and the pennies wil draw the corrosin from the terminals inn the future. After they turn green, you can either clean them or replace them. They wont fall off if you put some double side tape on the bootom. DO NOT put any grease or any other type of substance on because it ill heat up, melt and then you will have a no start situation
