did you ever do a write-up on how to stuff a 5.4 into the Mustang engine bay? I looked for one when I had my GT and never had any luck. A few people did it, but they were usually shops and did alot of 1 off custom stuff to make the 5.4 2v's work. I think you're the only person I've heard of to stuff a 3v 5.4

can't say I agree with your choice to go back to 4.6...even if the 3v. a mildly boosted 5.4 should pick up 2-3 mpg if properly tuned. My buddies T/A with 10 psi on his LS1 gained about 5 mpg highway as long as he stays out of the throttle...putting down 525 hp and 510 tq

was fun watching your build up and one-off improvements for an extra pony.

I would have opted for the 32v '03/'04 Cobra motor myself. Go Turbo and you'll be getting well over 22 MPG.

sad to see it go, did you ever get an intake built that you liked?
yes the intake i am using now improved power throughout the entire powerband and pulls like hell to 5500.

it has the runners tapered 4" and other improvments. so it kept the torque and picked up .5 seconds in the 1/8 and 2mph. untuned.

If he was going to go with a four valve motor, he would of just went with a GT500 motor ...

the teksid is lighter and just as strong. the internals i bought are stronger, and with porting these heads murder stock terminator numbers and power. who needs the extra complexity/weight of 4v any more unless its FORD GT/GT500 heads?

problem is, the stock GT can easily get 18-20 mpg city, and upwards of 30 mpg highway.

I think Assasinator already said he gets nearly 30 mpg with the 5.4...to me, expecting to get better MPG isn't realistic with a V-8...hopefully I'm wrong though

It's heavier.

A stock GT has ~190 RWHP which is not nearly enough go power to pull a 5200+ lb truck. Isn't the existing base engine similar anyway?

OP's car is a 1996 Mustang GT. Not a F-150. He just posts here because his current motor was donated out of a carcass F-150 with 5.4 3v.

you're right though. but it is pretty good for powering a 3200 lb 2 dr car

i love how people question a guy who put a 5.4 3v in a mustang and then went on to desiging/modifying intake manifolds to make just a few hp..........this guy knows what he is doing

because this is where he would post his little mods he was making being that we are the ones that have the same engines and would be benefiting from....
