LED Lighthead Blocking Vents?

So I have this Whelen LED light for my use as an EMT. I want to mount it at the bottom of the windshield, on the dash, where there appears to be some vents (possibly for the de-froster?).

Just wondering if this was a bad idea to block these vents. Obviously I would cover them with something, but just wanted to know if this is a good idea or not.

Here's a pic of the light:

and heres a pic of where I'm referring to mounting it:

Thanks,
Chris

You block those vents, and come winter you will be sorry. They defrost/defog the windshield.

Speaking from experience you should have no problems. Have fun with your green lights!

Green? Vollies use blue here. Some guys use green but I'm shooting for blue.

Also, you got any pics of how you got it mounted?

You might want to think about a visor mount instead. Putting them that low on the dash and stand in front with them on and what? wipers block alot of the light path

I'm going with 2 4 light bars on the top (left and right) and I want one in the center at the bottom. I would just go for a 8 light bar all the way across the top but the rearview gets in the way.

Sorry, I was assuming you were volunteering in New York which unless you are fire would be green. I see you have New Jersey also listed which would make sence now. I do not have any pictures of the set up. I had a Tomar 200S mounted right smack dab in the middle. Head on over to www.elightbars.org you can get a wealth of knowledge there. My user name is Bryan-EastCarolinaEVP.

you may want to check the new whelen catslog, they are now making full and partial bars for the inside of windshields

I have bought serval in the last couple of weeks for some p.d. and f.d. units.

I personally do not recommend lights down on the dash

the headlights tend to wash them out

Thanks for the help so far guys, this is kinda the look I'm going for:

Also, I do live in NY, but I'm pretty sure we can use blue lights (everyone I know has blue).
