Got official word back today from Mechman.com for their alternators. If we submit 8 orders then he can offer us a 250 amp alt (150 idle) for 299.99 shipped to us.

Im still waiting for information about payments and how he wants to do that.

This includes a 1 year warranty, he test every alternator (dyno) before he ships out, and proves a 150 idle. Also great reviews about their customer service. I have been speaking with Matt at Mechman.com and that is our current offer, as with any group buy we can save more by more people we get.

Does he have a chart on idle speed vs output?

I sent them a message but didnt get a response, then again I sent it right before I left from work, so they are probably leaving around then to. They should respond first thing tomorrow and ill update this site as soon as possible.

I don't mind shipping to different addresses. I can take PayPal, Visa, Discover, MasterCard and Amex. Let me know when you are ready and I'll ship 'em out!

I received that around 4:45 and didnt bother looking back until just now.

No problem. Every unit varies a little, but here is an average output curve for a large case 250amp:

800rpm = 145 amps
1200rpm = 210 amps
1800rpm = 244 amps
2500rpm = 255 amps


FYI, an "idle speed vs. output chart just shows what the alternator puts out at idle speeds. In the high output alternator business, it is very common for people to only advertise the "peak" output of their alternators because idle output is low, or sometimes non-existent. We have the strongest idle output in the business, hands down. That's why we don't bother with small case units, it's impossible to get decent output at idle. Feel free to post those #'s in the thread. Hope that helps!

Yes they would, but we actually ended this last night. We finished it on caraudio.com and I got my 250 amp alt for 299. I will post up a review on here for future reference for yall though.
