Sorry Dribone, I'm just not following you very well tonight...I think I'm overtired and seeing blurred! Anyhow, earlier you said you were using the factory fob, but then I saw you had steel plates with no lock cylinder...am I correct in assuming you have shaved handles with solenoid poppers and integrated the factory fob as the remote solenoid fob? So basically you use the left button on the factory fob (lock button) to pop the solenoid for the passenger side door, and the right button (unlock button) to pop the driver's side door? Or am I looking in WAYYY too far? lol, sorry for making this confusing, I'm more tired than I thought

actually, you're right on with that, but i use the lock button for the drivers door, and unlock for the passenger.

lol, no kidding....I was really taking a stab in the dark there...cool!

hmmm, in that case, I really don't know how you could disable the horn if using the factory fob...there must be a lead somewhere that can be disconnected, it's just which one, and without an electrical schematic, I have NO idea....sorry man

My friend had a button on his horns..When they are pushed in you have train horns, when its not pushed in you get a alarm siren. See if your local audio store can install it to where you get the two beeps from the siren instead of the loud blast!

I think the horn beep is an option you can disable through the message center (it was on my Lincoln, anyway). If you don't have the message center, it's most likely something that can be done by the dealer.

I believe the switch idea on the horn is better, because it's partly a safety issue. Besides, if you get pulled over for it by an a$$hole cop, you can just flip the switch and go "wasn't me, ossifer!"

I found this on another site. I think it turns off the horn beep too.

here are the steps out of the book to disable the "perimeter lighting"
1. make sure all doors are closed
2. turn the ignition to "on", and press the driver side door pad unlock button 3 times
3. turn ignition to "off" then press the driver side door pad unlock button 3 times
4. turn the ignition to "on" and you will hear a horn chirp confirming the feature is activated
5. within 5 seconds, press the same unlock button 2 times. you should hear one horn chirp confirming it has been disabled.
**** if you hear a chirp followed by a honk, then the feature is re-activated. so, just press the unlock button 2 more times and that will again disable it.
6. then, just turn the ignition off. you will hear a chirp confirming that you are exiting the configuration mode.

When i got pulled over for my train horns, I said that I only have the stock horn and said he could push it if he wants.(I have a button on my dash for the train horn). his smart *** asked me if i was so certain than i should pop my hood. lmao thats when I shut up and took the ticket. My horns are clearly visible through the grille.

If he crawls under there to look, give him a blast of the train.
Might even be worth the jail time.
