Ford's getting me a New Motor
Those were all questions I asked. Particularly the "Does the new motor come with 60,000 miles of protection, or the remaining 24,000 on my odometer.
Yes, it basically is a wash to remove a motor, and tear it down, and rebuild. Apparently, there were several techs everywhere that chased codes to find this problem in other trucks, and their time and parts blew away what the cost was to just get a new motor.
I was told this was a new crate motor, with most parts on it, and they just unplug harnesses, and bolts, and swap.
BTW-the #7 misfire code is the clue for this ailment.

I can understand that because it was a rebuild. A new engine should come with a brand new warranty.
Now that I think about it, I'm pretty certain the brand new tranny GM put in my truck came with a brand new full factory warranty, because it was brand new, and not a rebuild.

Yeah, he said that the motor would only be covered for the remaining Powertrain warranty, 24,000 miles. In theory, the algorithyms put the motor reliability @ at least 60,000 miles-oh wait, I just disproved that! The engineers and accountants and lawyers are just such good people over @ Ford...
I'll take my chances with a brand-new lump, instead of the other one.
I'm wondering how much power I didn't have, as well as how much gas I burned to keep an out-of-alignment crank spinning...how do you pay me for that?
If anything kept the motor alive, it was using only Royal Purple after break-in. That's a great endorsement, "Royal Purple keeps even american-engineered vehicles running longer than they have a right to."

They will usually switch over the air conditioner compressor, alternator, etc...from you old motor to the new one, that is what BMW did to my friends 540 when his motor **** the bed at 38,000mi..Cost BMW.....$17,000 for that **** long block!....Hmmmm, It's not American is it!............
Here are some shots of my motor swap, taken yesterday. The service rep said it would of cost $7k, had I been off warranty.

I requested that the crank endplay of the new motor be measured before installation. That came to 32/1000ths of an inch....that should be adequate.
I get a new manifold & Fuel system as well.
The problem of spark plug replacement has been solved...replace the motor
