Oil filter: FL820S

Cold climate? 0w-20 works great for cold starts.

I change oil faithfully at 5k so I stick to what is in owners manual and just use the Ford part numbers and use 5w20 weight oil all the time. It gets cold in s/e PA but not as cold as other member's here..

As for the question at hand.......

Our trucks normally use 5w20 oil weight. I personally use Mobil 1 Full synthetic oil, with a K&N Oil Filter. And I try and change it every 3,000 miles.

As far a part numbers, not quite sure. But just swing by your local auto parts store and they should help you out.

Good luck, it's easier than you think.

just a FYI for you ford guys, Walmart carries the MotorCraft Synthetic Blend 5w20 and MotorCraft oil filters too. i picked up 7 quarts of oil and a filter for under 20 bucks. thought i'd pass the savings on:thumbsup:

AMSOIL 5w30 and AMSOIL Filter ALWAYS. I put close to 50,000 a year on my truck and alot of it is towing. I used to use MOBIL 1, but for a dollar more I switched to AMSOIL.

For anyone who really doesn't know, and i was once young myself with my first car and didn't know.......when you go to an auto parts store, there is either a chart, cross reference book, and/or a little computer which gives you all the compatible parts and part numbers. Those guys behind the counter are there to make money by selling you stuff. They probably won't laugh at you, like the way they laughed at me, when I told them I had a Mustang II. Sometimes, they can be helpful too. Not just oils & filters. Also wiper blades, batteries.....little trees to hang on your mirror.....plus bubble gum & candy at the checkout.
