Audiophile Stereo in an 08 f 150

Is the Audiophile system worth the price? How does it sound compared to the regular stereo?

Any opinions would be appreciated!

It depends on how good you want your stereo to sound. Yes, it sounds way better than the stock stereo. No, it's not going to win any awards in a car stereo contest. Go sit in one with the Audiophile and one without and listen to them. If you think you will be satisfied with the Audiophile after hearing it, then it's worth it. If you think that there is a chance that you might want more sound or more bass in the future, then you may want to consider buying the standard stereo, since it won't be worth the extra cost if you just rip it all out.

I have the Audiophile and I pulled out the stock sub/amp and installed something a little more potent. Now I am happy with it, but I had to spend another $800 to get it that way.

i have it and my dad's truck doesn't. i'm not an audiophile, so the stock sub/amp is perfect for me. the door speakers leave a bit to be desired though. i will probably upgrade them at some point to get rid of some of the muddiness. other than that, i like it.

I have to be honest...I had a 2004 F150 with the Audiophile system and i was always very happy with the stock sub/amp. Unfortunately, the sub enclosure in the Super Duty is less than half the size of the one in the F150. It was truly pitiful.

didn't i say that? it's the door speakers that could be a little better. the stock sub/amp is just right for me. i never saw the need to rattle off my rear view mirror with bass.

If all your looking for is a little bass then the audiophile is perfect. I am happy with the way it sounds and its 10x better than in my old 01 f150. If you love lots of bass then go aftermarket.

I am not looking for tons of bass. Just want a clear sound and noticable "low end".

I mostly listen to rock n roll so I aint rollin around playin puff daddy or some s##t.

I dont have the drive to tear the thing all apart and install my own like I used to. I just want a quality sound that I can hear on the highway with the windows down.

Thanks for all of the info guys!! Much appreciated!!

I had the audiophile and couldn't stand it. Sounds okay until about half volume, the sub can only put out so much sound and the speakers start distorting with really harsh highs. I have replaced the entire system with plans to add more power/amps this summer.

I am an audiophile though, i'm one of those that CRAVES the aftermarket system.

AAudiophile

I added a 12' sub. 200 watt amp. custom enclosure to my stock head unit.Sounds really good, and did it inexpensively.I wanted the audiophile, but this thing rocks way better. Its like there is a bass guitar in the back ground!you can hear twice the music notes.

my ex has 2 10" shallow mount kickers with a custom box and not sure on the amp size. That thing massages my back pretty good, and I have the audiophile w/sub in mine. Getting back into my truck is always a bit of an adjustment, I kinda like blasting my ears from time to time it gets me energetic and wakes me up before class!

I'll probably splurge on something when I do my research. I was never an audiophile until I drove around with it for a while.

I think it's a good system for what it is. It is by far the best factory Ford system I've ever had. I did remove the factory deck and replaced it with a Kenwood. I was really suprised with how much bass the sub has, but the separates could be better.

I have it in my truck and like it a lot...it sounds really good for a stock setup. I think its worth it cause I don't like adding aftermarket stereo equipment...if you do, I would stick with the standard setup, but it sounds great and better than standard if you don't want to mess with the stereo later.

I have audiophile in my 08 FX4 and I think it sounds better than dad's BMW 335i's system and a loaded rangerover's system we leased for a while
