JBMX... did you trade your truck in?

Trade in values and private party values vary greatly.

One of those things we all gotta live with.

i didnt exactly trade it in. I gave it to them, said get it the hell out of here and they gave me an escape with a lower payent .

I know theres a difference, i was just saying that i dont think any 05 f150 should be sold for 24000

That's not true. Different models depreciate differently. I'm sure a super crew lariat is more desireable than an extended cab XLT, therefore it wouldn't depreciate as fast and would be worth more on the used car market.

Exactly. Which is why my STX regular cab is only worth about 10 grand. When new it was only a few grand cheaper than the XLT scab I looked at.

That sense of desperation makes a dealer think they can give you whatever they want and you'll be happy. Been there, done that.

Classic. I am hoping the pun was intended.

im very happy with this escape. The deal wasnt as quick and dry as you may have believed from my text. I spent probably about 6-7 months abusing my salesman and trying as hard as i can to get out of my truck into ANYTHING else as long as it had 4x4, and finally this escape deal came along. The thing feels very solid and has been great to me so far. Trust me, this wasnt a painless ordeal getting out of the truck .

Just do not buy lifted trucks near pismo or glamis and if you're worried about mud or any kind of rock rash you can examine the undercarriage. There are many ways to tell, check the exhaust manifolds for burnt mud on them. I still can't get my mud off there

Pismo destroys my truck and gets sand everwhere (on window tracks, rear slider tracks, sunroof tracks, etc)!

Well I went and looked at the truck, drove it and all that good stuff, but in the end I didn't get a deal that made it worth buying. The truck had too many little things that would bug me. Scratches here and there, touch-up paint in one spot, the seams in the seat were starting to split, the chrome shifter bezel was scratched up, there was a hair tie around the shifter they never removed which means a girl was doing who knows what with the truck, and when they started it the thing smoked like they had just sea-foamed it. It also rattled as we drove...combined with the fact that I really want an FX4 it just wasn't "my" truck.

On a side note...where should the controls for the sunroof be? I want to be sure I get one with a factory sunroof, not aftermarket.

That's a nice one. Seems like a pretty good price on it too. If you can get that for about $22K I'd snap it up.
