Have any luck selling your OEM wheels?

I noticed quite a few of you have new wheels, what did you do with your factory wheels? If you sold them what price did you put on them, where did you sell them, etc?

I kept my stockers and run them in the winter so that my good wheels don't end up getting pitted from all the salt that they use around here. I did call a couple wheel dealers to see what I could get for my stock 18's if I where to sell them, prices varyed from $200-400. So I figured for that amount of money I would just keep them and save my good wheels for summer.

I have my original 18" FX4 rims with BFG's tires that I am getting ready to sell. They only have 300 miles on them. (I need the garage room for the JetSki's!)

I think I will try Craigslist first. Good info on what to ask for them! Heck, mine are practically brand new

Posted the 20's in the classifieds here and had a buyer within a couple of days. Priced them at $900 with 8000 miles on them and sensors not included.

I sold my stock 18"ers with tires that had about 35000 miles on them on Craigslist for about $250. They were up there for less than a week and they were gone. Of course people are always looking for wheels for their snow tires up here.

I drove my "off the sales lot" truck directly to my local tire store and made a deal for new wheels and tires... the factory wheels and tires were a sick joke.

I think they allowed me $30 or $40 for each factory wheel. I didn't care too much as long as I got someting for them to offset the cost of the new wheels which were like $150 each. The tire stores sell the factory wheels to people looking for an extra set of wheels to mount snow tires on and they can just keep the snow tires mounted till they need them the next winter.

Worked out well for me.

Used the local paper and dumped the "chrome plated steel" for $350.00 with 600 miles on them. Went fast: guy loaned his son the 04 F150 and when it was parked at the girlfriends house, her ex came by and sliced all 4 tires. Buying mine saved the guy the tow or having to pull the wheels and take them over to get new ones, then put them back on.

Woof

I sure figured they would have been at least $100 per rim. I'm pushing 48000 miles on mine but they are in primo shape, no nicks, scraps against a curb, nothing. Sounds like the cost really has to be eaten if we want to upgrade our wheels. Thanks for the info.
