It may be different but in maryland if you drive an uninsured vehicle on the road, the cops arrest you, impound your vehicle and your hit with a $500+ dollar fine. Sucks you cant get ahold of him though. SUE HIM!!!!

Thought I would share a good story. My wife and I were in a resteraunt in Atlanta and a guy hit my car in the parking lot while I was inside. I came out to find the back driver side panel heavily dented. I got in my car and started driving away, when my wife pointed to the windsheild and said "Whats that?". It was the guys insurance card and his phone number. He said to give him a call and he would come back buy to get an accident report. Nice to know that there are some honest people still in the world.

Not suggesting this, but when I have been in any sort of accident, I ask for driver's license and insurance, so I can write down the correct info. I then proceed to write down his address, just in case.

I guess its time to look into that aftermarket rear bumper tho ay ? Sorry about that mess. Makes me mad just reading it.

Justice was not served
Rarely is my friend. Sadly.

Ok, I got one to share.....About 6 months ago I'm driving down I4 from Orlando to Daytona going to work at 8:30 in the morning and I'm passing a semi at 85mhp. I'm in my 05 Focus, not the 150 and I look in my rearview and see this black lexus 2 door RIGHT on my ***. He was so close that I couldn't see but 1/2 of his hood. So I give the breaks a little tap and he goes into a rage, starts yelling and hitting his steering wheel. So I really don't care and I keep going 85 and as soon as I pass the truck I get over into the right lane and look behind me and he's not there, he's beside me already so I get back into the passing lane and then, this guy in his infinite wisdom has the bright idea that he's gonna cut me off AND brake check me, while he's 2-3 feet away from me.....So I slam on the brakes and slam into him and he's GONE........Had to have been going 100-120. So I pull over and call 911 and they can't do anything cause I don't have a license plate #. The car's got a nice crack in the bumper and a busted turn signal. Then 2 days later I get a nice long key mark on the pass side that was done by someone in the neighborhood.

Gotta love people.

Cool

First of all. Thanks to all for the great replys. Some of you have some stories worse than mine.

I now know that I should have gotten an accident report, I was just stupid that day...

I got his address and phone number and other pertinent info. Do any of you really think I might get something out of him by sueing for 1000$ or am I just wasting my time...

18 hours after coming home with my 06 I watched a guy slam his door into my truck.

I parked 5 stalls from any other car when I went into the store. When I come out this guy is parked beside me, with lots of empty stalls closer to the store and I see him open his door to get in and it slam it into my truck. He sees me coming and takes off. I ended up with a 2" dent and was not close enough to get his plate.

You guys are lucky you were driving trucks. I have a friend who was on the way home one night on his mint condition 04 Cobra. Some guy on a pos rearended while he was going down the road at 55mph. The guy hit him so hard the it mashed the tailpipes shut and the car cut off. He had to watch the guy drive off and not be able to catch him

I doubt suing him would get you much, but there is always small claims court.

It comes down to how much your time is worth t you. It will soke up a lot of your time for a little while, and probably force you into time off work. I couldn't afford to do that, but others can.

You have his info right ? Maybe a visit will be in order.
