fireman, i just finished installing my exedition mirrors, and i cant find a good spot to tap into the dome light circuit.

You mind telling me where you tapped on the pass side?
Im pretty sure ill just tap into the black-blue wire in the door sill on the drivers, but on the pass side i found the black and blue wire and it doesnt seem to function with the dome light. I dont get any power or anything there.

Oh by the way, yours is an XLT right? i found that my 06 xlt is prewired for LED turns and heat up to the mirror plug, its as simple as just swapping the mirrors or plugging into the door side of the mirror harness. I just had to run one wire for the puddle lamps.
Thanks.

Oh and for the guys wondering if it can be done to the OEM leds, i found that the expy mirror has the LED epoxied into the lense, its pretty much a sealed unit so i dont know how much of a hassle its going to be to get to the individual LEDs

Just curious but were did you get the smaller round mirror at? I have been trying to find a set like that? Is it a complete new mirror or just a stick on one or something?

I couldn't find a suitable tap, so I ran a wire through the dash to the drivers side and hit the same wire in the boot that you've already found.

Excellent, I read here that some are and some aren't, that yours is prewired will make that mod a lot easier. Great custom work you're doing!

It's a stick-on, got them from Advance Auto, like $5 for the two. I've seen ones at other stores that aren't adjustable, these are, which makes me like them better. Pretty sure these are them: link

BLEH! i came to check to see if you had a spot for me to tap to...

i have the full fusebox out so im going to see if the wire runs anywhere near there. Its odd, i found a blue with black (which i thought at first was black and blue) but its a bit of a bigger gauge and its a ground, and then i found what would appear to be the black-light blue, it goes to a small four pin pliug right above and to the left of the fusebox. It doesnt have power when the dome lights light though.

but yea ill just run the wire over to the drivers side, since that is connected and done with. im just glad i left my dash apart, so it will be easier to route the wire.

Oh and thanks for the compliments, ill have updated pics of my mirrors on my thread later this afternoon.

Sweet !!! fireman, do you still have the regular flasher in? I got an electronic flasher for all my LEDs but when I tested my firestorm bar I noticed the flasher doesn't let all the LED's scan thru. Btw, to anyone thinking of the firestorm bar, it doesn't really impress me like the fire & ice. I think it's the brightness (or lack there of) that doesn't tickle my fancy.

I have my original flasher in - maybe you can try a different replacement flasher to solve your problem, they all have slightly different flash rates. Worst case you could wire in a timed relay, but that may be overkill for your problem.
