need to improve RCD lift

Well im decently happy with my RCD kit. awesome shocks and all. but it is STIFF, wheel travel is pretty much less than stock, cause the bilstein struts are set for 6" rather than 4.5.

here are some of the things i dont like:
creaking, popping on turns over terrain, dust boot off so i see the yellow bumpstop, slight alignment issue, and of course the zero wheel travel.

are the noises normal?
are these things i should just suck up and deal with?

im thinking i want coilovers and aftermarket upper control arms.. coilovers for better off roading, and upper control arms for alignment and strength

can i use the RIZE kings, fabtech DL, procomp coilovers. swayaway makes some coilovers for 6" lifts anyone know if they are good? i think i want kings, swayaway if they are good, or fox if that exsists.

btw i want to stick with 35's so i dont think ill be shelling out for a bigger high performance lift, even if i had the dough, i just want to make my 6" lift the best it can be

This has to be the first negative thing I have heard about RCD. Maybe you should just take it back down to the 4.5 level. i believe you should still be able to fit your 35's.

Thumbs up

I have the RCD 4.5-6" and don't have any problems. Wheel travel is normal and it rides better with the bilsteins than it did stock. Love the gater-skin components. No creaks or noises out of mine. My bump stops are black. Did they over crank your torsion bars?? IMHO it is the best quality lift out there. If you are really hammering the truck you need coil-overs. But for normal off-road use I have 0 complaints.

No torsion bars on 04+ F-150's. Sorry to here about your RCD lift.
Just remeber lifted trucks don't ride like caddy's. I'm not sure what size rims you have but if you don't have alot of sidewall it will make it ride alittle rougher. These trucks don't have alot of wheel travel up front lifted or stock. I'm sure you can get kings shock, just send them the spec's of your current ones, Also the DL should work also. With the creeks just spay some deep creek lube on the poly bushings and check all the bolts for tightness from the lift, It is always good to do this after 500 miles on the lift. Hope everything will work out. RCD is company that makes a good lift.

Our trucks do NOT have torsion bars or keys.
