I am pulling a consistant 12.25-12.50mpg every tank.

I have a 6" lift, 35x12.50-R17 ProComp mud terrains and a 5.4L

All that I have done to the truck is the lift, tires and a Magnaflow catback exhaust. My speedometer/odometer is off by 11% due to the tires, so my gas mileage is actually better than what I stated, but I am going off of the trip odometer and dividing that by gallons used.

I have a gps unit so I notice that every 10 miles I lost .8 of a mile. So every time I fill up I divide how ever many miles I got by 10, then multiply by .8. Add this number to odo reading. Gives a more accurate MPG number.

On a stock tune I was getting 9.5 mpg mix city/highway. Now with the Troyer tune im getting 11 mpg on 87 performance tune and on 93 performance tune 11.5 mpg. Im back to 87 tune and have the Scanguage II so I will be checking my math. BTW during the summer I can get as high as 17 mpg on a trip. Its also in the low 20s temp wise.

I've never figured out my mpg, but in the summer on a light foot I can get 200 km's to the first quarter tank. Now, in the winter, even with a light foot, I'm lucky to get 150 km's to the first quarter tank.

I have a stock setup, but at least you can compare it... Yes, I have a sick fetish for tracking fuel economy.

Your spread sheet makes mine look like my 3 year old made it.

I'm getting 12 most of the time on 305/65 18s. But I'm in Metro DC. Even on the highway, it's a lot of stop, a little go, a lot more stop, driving.

I have an 04 lariat 4x4 extended cab with 35-12.5 on my stock rims. I have added a k&n drop in filter and i have my xcal3 on economy. I dont have the custom tunes yet thats just the canned tunes. I have been extremely impressed with them. I was getting 11.5-12 mpg and now im getting 14.5-15. Thats driving 50 miles of back roads to school and back, which means lots of downshifts in curves and all. People say the troyer tunes are way better than canned tunes so i cant wait to get them.

I'm gonna guess that when I get the 6in lift my milage is going to go down even worst? I would like to replace gears, but don't think it will be in my budget anytime soon. I don't have an exact spreadsheet, but after doing some math I figured out that I have to multiply my odometer reading by 1.09 to get my actual milage (that's after 5 long trips with a gps calculating exact milage and dividing it by what my odometer says). Any one have any cheap ways of me getting to about 13mpg?

Just curious: any of your guys checkin the MPG's to keep track of your motor performance ? To keep an eye on things like your 02 sensor ? ?
Or is it simply to see your MPG's ? Are you guys that worried about it ? You bought a truck, and some lift it. Just wondering

(yall got me wanting to start keep an eye on it now)

Yup! Right here. So Cal, no less! As you can see from my Excel spreadsheet, I've spent over $2100 in gas over the past 6 months.

I don't even want to know my $$$ spent on gas. At least my truck aint my DD.

So, Bam: you doing this for any other reason then "just cause" ? Are you trying to keep track of engine performance ? Keepin an eye on the 02 sensor ?

Several reasons:
-"Just 'cause".
-I've been trying several different brands/grades/types of motor oil, and I want to see how they affect economy.
-Keep an eye on engine performance.
-Compare how different driving routines affect economy (highway vs city vs towing, etc).
-I get a quick thrill every time I enter new data from a fill-up. I'm always hoping that I'll hit the elusive 14 MPG mark. But after 6+ months, I'm starting to think that it's nothing more than a dream.
