I absolutely love reading posts by RMS8... you are logical LOL. For most people the diesel can never warrant the extra cost... my father and I talked about this when getting my F150.

If anyone on this message board really cared about gas mileage, he wouldn't own an F150. No truck gets good fuel mileage. If you are going to sacrifice fuel mileage to have a truck, why not buy a truck that does what you want it to do. The fact is, a lot of the people who own an F150 really don't know much about the Super Duty.

sure! i just want the bigger truck period, the f150 is not buil for what i want and i know this. i tried to beef it up with UCAs thickening the frame mounts and such but our little CVs and all that crap just cant handel offroading very well.
oh, and your going to Santa B for sure ? )
most likely, i can get small scholarship from Westmont the (shcool in Monticeto which is 5min. out of SB) for tennis and im working on the coach at SB so we'll see, if i dont get in next fall then ill transfer the following year.

so whats up with everyone hating on me for wanting a new truck????? i was just stating some of the reasons... anyways i love my F150 but i really want the bigger truck it will be worth it to me to have more power and the same MPG. If you're jealous i dont care so stop talking crap!

There you go spouting off about supposed facts again.

The true fact of the matter is, a lot of people don't even need an F150, but some waste even more money on a superduty that can do rediculously more than they'll ever need. That's a fact. It's cool to drive a superduty

That's a fact, but for those that actually need it (towing only, not dune jumping), then we're talking about a different scenario all together.

Have you actually read this thread, or did you just want to hear yourself talk?

I haven't seen anyone slam the OP for what he wants, or what he's getting. The only thing the OP has been questioned on is the gas mileage comments. Other than that, a lot of the the replies were in relation to Freeky's constant innuendo's about F150's, and F150 owners, especially since he now owns a superduty after getting rid of his horrendous F150. Same old, same old.

See below for obvious reason why…….

Raised suspension, enormous wheels/tires, heavy right foot…..need I go on? Owning a diesel will only net him a larger hole in his pocket, unless that’s something his pop’s contributes too. Diesels do NOT, I repeat DO NOT get THAT MUCH BETTER MILEAGE that a typical F150. PERIOD. A diesel is a few thousand pounds heavier. Fuel is more expensive. Maintenance is SUBSTATIALLY MORE EXPENSIVE. Wait till he has to get an OIL CHANGE. LMFAO. He’ll be right back here whinning how expensive it is just to change the oil. Give me a break.

FACT:
My Friend and I both tow our race cars to Byron Raceway several times during the season. (sometimes side by side going down the highway for comparisons sake)

FACT:
I have a 2006 F150 5.4l 4x4 Supercrew.
He has a 2007 F250 PSD 2wheel drive Supercab

FACT:
We both have our cruise control set to 65mph.

FACT:
I average 12-13MPG in tow.
He averages13-14MPG in tow.

FACT:
He recently traded in his F250 PSD for a 2008 F150 simply because it was ….ready for it….cause it’s-a-come’n……..It was TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE TO OWN THAT DIESEL.

Sure, it pulled a trailer and race car easier than my F150. Sure it went up hills more often without gear hunting vs. my F150. Fact remains, it was definitely NOT worth all the added expense of maintenance combined with higher fuel costs.

FACT:
If one thinks one will “look” cooler riding around in a superduty, then one will feel they are cooler riding around in a superduty.
Can I nominate this for best post ever?

I guess I would think it was a great post if an F150 was enough truck for me...but the great thing is that we have a choice. You can have your light duty IFS truck and I will take my medium duty solid front axle truck. He says "it was definitely NOT worth all the added expense of maintenance combined with higher fuel costs" but I do my own oil changes every 6,000 miles and they cost $50. On my F150, I changed the oil every 3,000 miles and they cost about $25. Where's the extra maintenance cost there? In my F150, I had a tuner and used 93 octane gasoline for the 93 performance tune, and that premium fuel cost about the same as diesel. Where is the extra fuel cost there? I understand that the initial $7,000 that the PowerStroke costs over the 5.4L engine is the reason for not buying the diesel, but maintenance and fuel cost are not factors to me. When I go to sell the truck, I will get part of that $7,000 back in resale value. I love my truck and just wish that some of you guys telling him not to buy a Super Duty could drive one for a day to see what what they are all about.
