See below for obvious reason why…….

Raised suspension, enormous wheels/tires, heavy right foot…..need I go on? Owning a diesel will only net him a larger hole in his pocket, unless that’s something his pop’s contributes too. Diesels do NOT, I repeat DO NOT get THAT MUCH BETTER MILEAGE that a typical F150. PERIOD. A diesel is a few thousand pounds heavier. Fuel is more expensive. Maintenance is SUBSTATIALLY MORE EXPENSIVE. Wait till he has to get an OIL CHANGE. LMFAO. He’ll be right back here whinning how expensive it is just to change the oil. Give me a break.

FACT:
My Friend and I both tow our race cars to Byron Raceway several times during the season. (sometimes side by side going down the highway for comparisons sake)

FACT:
I have a 2006 F150 5.4l 4x4 Supercrew.
He has a 2007 F250 PSD 2wheel drive Supercab

FACT:
We both have our cruise control set to 65mph.

FACT:
I average 12-13MPG in tow.
He averages13-14MPG in tow.

FACT:
He recently traded in his F250 PSD for a 2008 F150 simply because it was ….ready for it….cause it’s-a-come’n……..It was TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE TO OWN THAT DIESEL.

Sure, it pulled a trailer and race car easier than my F150. Sure it went up hills more often without gear hunting vs. my F150. Fact remains, it was definitely NOT worth all the added expense of maintenance combined with higher fuel costs.

FACT:
If one thinks one will “look” cooler riding around in a superduty, then one will feel they are cooler riding around in a superduty.
Well put, well put.

Once again...the reason Ford makes so many different trucks is that every owner has different reason for buying a truck. If we all liked the same thing, then Ford would build one model of truck. When I see pictures of a person jumping his truck on a sand dune and hear him talk about how he is tired of breaking things, my suggestion is to buy a Super Duty. For 99% of all the people who buy a pickup truck, a light duty 1/2 ton pickup is more than enough for anything that he might want to do. For those who push the limits of the F150, the Super duty would be a better choice.

You sound like a whack job salesperson. "If you want to jump dunes and break, get an F150. If you want to make that same jump without breaking, the Superduty is for you ".

Superduty’s make BETTER TOWING vehicles so you can TOW HEAVY LOADs EASIER/SAFER. They do NOT make better sand-dune-jumpers….

I whole heartedly agree with everything else you just mentioned!

I’ll admit, I too would love to own a superduty simply because of it’s more rugged look. I like the even roomier interior too. What I don’t like is that I either get a gasoline engine which will get ridiculous MPG since the superduty is so much heavier, or a PSD which costs $$ to keep up with.

No deny’n it’s an awesome looking truck indeed!

Superduties arent for everyone. My truck only gets 12-15 mpg right now. The thing with deisels are the more miles you put on them the more mpg's you get. I use my truck for what its intended to. I tow my stepdads 25 foot ocean fishing boat, haul thousands of pounds of wood for my day job and tow a desert trailer up massive grades going to the desert. As for oil changes we only have to change our oil every 10 thousand miles! Werd!

And if you change your oil yourself, it's only about $50. Walmart sells the oil and the filters. I feel that $50 every 10,000 miles (I do mine every 6,000 miles) isn't bad. If you're gonna' play, you have to be willing to pay. I'm not asking anybody to pay for my truck or its upkeep, so I don't expect anyone to tell me what I can drive.

I don't think a f150 or f250 belong dune jumping. Both vehicles are to big for hardcore offroading. If bud wants a superduty, good for him. This is just a guess, but i bet part of the reason is he wants a new toy to mod and he is board with his current. He is young and why not. The main reason i hate to see him sell it is because it is so bad ***.

You obviously need a superduty for serious reasons. The fact that it looks good doing it is just icing on the cake.

Don't forget that EVERY engine gets better MPG as it get's broken in......

Yeah, my 08 was getting almost 13 MPG...then I traded it for another 08 with no miles and I am back down to about 12 MPG. Of course, I had the same 35x12.5x20 M/T tires on both trucks. I am sure that has some impact. (And this is using winter formulation diesel as well.)

It's a brand new engine and will take a while to break in. My original truck was getting about 14 MPG in the city before the weather got cold and the diesel formulation changed to the winter crap. My truck weighs quite a bit more too.

wow... hate to see you sell your truck, but can honestly say I do understand. These big **** F150s and the IFS...WTF ? a truck should have a solid axle, period.

Well, I am sure most of the "nay-sayers" are either jelous of the truck you may end up with, or are jealous of the fact you can apparently afford it. Good luck to ya BUD ! Hate to see that gorgeous truck go !

(oh, and your going to Santa B for sure ? )

sad indeed... love the way that truck looks.... but honestly, cant say that i can pitty the problems with MPG and power.. you cant have a monster truck, a race car, and a semi in one vehicle and expect good numbers on either end..

i do agree that these trucks lack in power.. one reason i was considering gettin into a dodge.. but they are just so fugly on the inside..

hope you get what you want.. the powerstrokes are deffinately insanely cool.. i loveeee the sound of those turbo deisels... but dont forget..

like everyone is saying, their upkeep is expensive, but their initial purchase price isnt cheap either!... one reason im not goin into one.. they run forever tho, and i do like that..

take care buddy
