It's too bad that Ford doesn't still make the 7.3. I don't think I would waste my money on the current Ford diesel engine.

Does the 1-3 mpg increase in driving a superduty really make up for the fact that diesel is more expensive than gasoline?? Right now gasoline is $2.95 / gal and diesel is pushing $3.55 / gal in my area anyways. Just curious...

Yep. My best friend has a '07 Cummins with a 4" lift. It still does better than a stock truck by a few MPG. But regardless. We looked at it when I lift my truck, even if I get 13mph hwy and 10 city, I'll be saving over driving a Diesel. Plus the additional cost to acquire a diesel.

It would never save money, but they sure are cool trucks. Sad to see ya see your ride, nice truck....

that's kind of a non-issue.

kind of like how someone would end up with an F150 over a Ranger in the first place. Sometimes, going the next size up can't be measured in dollar terms.

8" rize and 38s...and you're complaining about gas mileage??
your missing the point here, im complaining about the lack of HP for how ****y MPG i get, i tow a boat at least 2x a week (during the summer) and i have a camper that we usually put on my dads Chevy. now i can put the camper on my truck (if i had a super duty) and tow the boat. i could never have done that with my F150 and now my dad doesnt need his crappy chevy anymore which he likes the idea of.

i just threw out the idea of a huge super duty, like i said we'll see how my finances look after this all goes down.

i put super in my truck so that wouldnt matter and yes i think its worth it having a truck that could pull a semi and all i would have to do is put $.60 more in my tank for every gallon while getting 18mpg. it makes sense to me.

i think its always funny how people jump on the gas issue thats one of the variables to many reasons why im selling my truck. i dont just want better gasmileage more power bla bla bla i want a SUPER DUTY!!! get off my back people!!

Your original question was how much more your truck is worth with the extras. You might get more if you find someone that wants what you have done and doesn't think it has been abused. However, to dealers and most of the general public, the value of the truck is several thousand dollars less than a bone stock one.

I used to buy and sell vehicles at the wholesale auction and found modified vehicles to bring far less than stock vehicles.

I regretted buying my 04 F150 from day one. I was still on the dealer lot the day I bought my 04 F150 looking at Super Duty's and wishing i had bought one. I really wanted an 04 Super duty but could not stand the interior in them. Once I saw the 08 Super duty interior, I knew that I was going to have one. I just don't understand why Ford waited so long to update the super Duty interior. My buddy has a 2007 Harley Davidson F350 and is jealous of my 08 FX4 F250 interior.

But at least he'll have over 400 HP and over 700 lb-ft of torque to justify the bad fuel mileage. (That is assuming that he does some type of tuner.) What excuse does the F150 have for only getting 13 MPG?

Amen! The cool factor of having a diesel can't be measured in dollars or expressed in words. It's just a totally different vibe. Once you buy a diesel, you will know that you have stepped up to a real truck and not a car with a bed. Sure it's louder, rides rougher, doesn't brake as well, and costs more to keep it up. That's all part of it. It's a real truck with real capabilities and no compromises. Some people are ready for that and some want a grocery getter. i may never use mine to its full ability, but i have not limited myself by buying something that will break when pushed to its limits. The guys on here that are pusing the limits of the F150, like Bud8817 and Josiah, understand what the limitations of the F150 are. They have exceeded them and realize that the F250 is just a better platform to start from when building a true offroad machine. It's just too bad that people don't realize it sooner...and save all that money that they throw at the F150.

Raised suspension, enormous wheels/tires, heavy right foot…..need I go on? Owning a diesel will only net him a larger hole in his pocket, unless that’s something his pop’s contributes too. Diesels do NOT, I repeat DO NOT get THAT MUCH BETTER MILEAGE that a typical F150. PERIOD. A diesel is a few thousand pounds heavier. Fuel is more expensive. Maintenance is SUBSTATIALLY MORE EXPENSIVE. Wait till he has to get an OIL CHANGE. LMFAO. He’ll be right back here whinning how expensive it is just to change the oil. Give me a break.

FACT:
My Friend and I both tow our race cars to Byron Raceway several times during the season. (sometimes side by side going down the highway for comparisons sake)

FACT:
I have a 2006 F150 5.4l 4x4 Supercrew.
He has a 2007 F250 PSD 2wheel drive Supercab

FACT:
We both have our cruise control set to 65mph.

FACT:
I average 12-13MPG in tow.
He averages13-14MPG in tow.

FACT:
He recently traded in his F250 PSD for a 2008 F150 simply because it was ….ready for it….cause it’s-a-come’n……..It was TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE TO OWN THAT DIESEL.

Sure, it pulled a trailer and race car easier than my F150. Sure it went up hills more often without gear hunting vs. my F150. Fact remains, it was definitely NOT worth all the added expense of maintenance combined with higher fuel costs.

FACT:
If one thinks one will “look” cooler riding around in a superduty, then one will feel they are cooler riding around in a superduty.

Not to mention, I get a kick outta how many use their SUPERDUTIES as grocery getters. At least the truck will handle that one extra bag of lettuce that much better.
