Heat is your friend. Just work it over with a heat gun or blowdryer and it should come off. Be careful if it leaves any residue, as som eproducts are not safe on paint. I have heard that plastic razor blades work well.

patience.. heat.. possibly a piece of string or thread to cut it...then googone, or other product to remove residue

just be careful... although something very simple to remove many times its possible for clear coat to come off if done too fast or wrong.

This is what I have done to get the stickers off. Heat up the area with a hair dryer, then use your finger nail to peel up a corner, then pull on the sticker and remove all of it that you can. After that just keep repeating this until it is all gone. If there is any glue from the sticker left over use some WD-40 to remove it.

I am sure that someone else will have a better way to remove them, but this is what has worked for me.

I use the WD-40 method too.... works reallly well... just main thing is to be extremely patient and dont get in too much of a hurry or else you'll have some really bad results.

same advice, heat ( hair dryer would be fine, be careful with the heat gun ! ) and I use the turtle wax bug and tar remover spray, worked great on adhesives and leaves a wax shine.

Bug & Tar remover instead of wd40 works well too.

**ALWAYS** re-wax the area where you utilize a chem like bug & tar remover -- or wd40 -- or goo gone -- or anything else that is taking the adhesive and making it such that you can remove it.

You are removing any protection 'layer' that is on the paint... plus, you're stripping the clear of necessary oils that help keep the clear, clear (and non-brittle).

I thought '06 was the first year for a V6 F-150. Or was that first year for a V6 F150 with a stickshift?

No.

A heat gun with adjustable settings [variable temp] and different head attachments is the ideal method. It's more precise and, depending on what you're trying to remove [tediousness and size of job], is far more efficient.

Hair dryers will, for the most part, work but you have to adjust the distance to the removal piece to get the optimum results... which, basically acts like the method above.... kind of.

Hair dryers also vary in heat output [wattage] from model A to model B and next to none of them have a setting past "high" and "low."

A fair-to-decent heat gun will run you, give or take, about $50.00... a little more for attachments included.

Good luck.

Just use your fingernail to peel it off. That's what I've always done. No problems yet. The CarMax sticker is just cheap vinyl anyhow.

They've been making V6 F150's with a stick forever.

That was the first thing I did to my truck when I got it. It was fairly cold out so I just took my time and got the whole area warm with a hair dryer (I have a heat gun but would not recommend it for this purpose), peeled the corner with my fingernail and pulled off each section of the decal, cleaned with bug and tar remover, went over it with some speed glaze by hand, and some wax to top.

If you keep the area warm as you peel everything off you usually do not need anything very strong to get the residue off. Good luck.
