It's an engine issue, correct? The engines aren't built at the vehicle assembly plant, they're built at the engine plant, which I believe is in Canada.

so basically, the motors went kaboom, Ford had the trucks for roughly 30 days and then a new motor came back to you...where is the problem here?

it sucks that the original motor was bad, but c'mon, a new motor is always better than putting a temp fix on a bad engine. I'd gladly make 1 month payment to get a new motor and I'm only at 19,000 miles right now. hopefully my motor keeps going strong

and Stealth is right. I don't know where they are assembled, but each plant has the engines shipped to them. so it is completely luck of the draw.

1) 30 days is far far to long for this type of job, someone was procrastinating
2) It's a brand new truck, it should not need a new motor

Made a trip back up to the dealer today to get some stuff out of my truck and I asked to see the carnage, the tech went back inside and grabbed my oil pan and it was covered with little metal chunks and flakes. They said the new motor will be here next week and it will take them a couple of days turn around to get her running again. I can only hope for the best out come, I don't need a lemon I tried to tell them I wanted some sort of money back for my loss of the truck and they said there doing everything they can do for me at the moment. They did give me a loaner truck that is basically the same as mine to drive till I get my truck back, so that's a plus. This is rather embarrassing though.

Since you get to use and put miles on an identical truck and not putting miles and wear on yours, you're already ahead of the game. I would only ask for an extension of the powertrain warranty on the engine.

Got the my truck back today They only had it for a week and a half, and believe it or not they did one hell of a job, the thing looks like it has never been tampered with. My old motor must of really been messed up since day one, the new motor purr's like a kitten and is 100% smoother with no vibrations or misses. Hope it runs like this forever or atleast as long as I own it.

I thought the engines were built in "Windsor" Ontario, Canada. I bet the engine your Tech put in was fresh off the assembly line and not a rebuilt. Hope it works out. I have only seen the thrust bearing issue in a couple of Expedition ELs. One more thing, why does everyone hate their Dealer so much?

Mine are fine. I go to two and couldn't be happier with both dealerships.

Thanks Stealth, I'm glad to hear at least someone can tolerate their dealer.

My dealer is wonderful. They are a very large dealer here and the service manager shoots me straight. He knows what I do for a living and knows that I mod the heck out of these trucks. It's also the 3rd truck in 5 years I have bought from them so they try and take care of me.

Don't bust KC built trucks...

Be proud you bought a truck from your home state and think about how many jobs you're supporting at home. After a Ford area rep looks into a case, you can bet the dealer put the best tech in the house on fixing your truck. Had a similar experience with escalating a service issue to Ford area guys with my old Ford Explorer and spoke to the guy who did the repairs. He was the senior tech in the whole shop and called the shots with 2 other techs to get 'er done right.

My '02 screw was a KC plant truck and had zero issues with powertrain in the 4 years I had her. Had issues with plastic trim parts though so I'm not saying KC is perfect here.

my '08 is a Dearborn. Had issues with plastic trim parts and some less than perfect paint coverage in some of the nooks and crannys so I'm not saying Dearborn is perfect here.

Just realize that now the important stuff on your truck is going to be better than new. If you get past 3 months or so without further issue, then just enjoy her.
