I like the looks of the step bars over other steps-gives it an aggresive look but doesnt look outta place

chrome ones would look great with your truck. definitely rounds off the truck nicely. clean look.
as far as the black ones on or off id say keep them on. looks to basic with them off. boring.

I'd love to take mine off my truck, but then I'd have to carry a step stool around for the times when my mother comes with us

With the stance/height of your truck I would say off. Throw on some drop shackles to level out the rear end and you can call it a day.

Just my opinion...trucks with no step of any kind look cheap, boring, and unfinished. Put them back on!
