New BakFlip G2 Installed

Friday I recieved a Bak Industries "G2 BakFlip" bed cover for my rig. So, I thought I would share some thoughts on the cover.

So far, the cover has been great. It works flawlessly and doesn't take away from the looks of my rig. Most don't even know its back there. I've had other folding covers on my trucks but this is by far my favoritte this far. It mounts FLUSH for a clean look, has drainage holes for water buidup in the rails, and is a VERY simple install. The cover folds up all the way to the window for COMPLETE access to your bed.

For those of you comtemplating a bed cover that has dual purposes, this is truly it. It can be removed easily in 2 minutes from the vehicle and reinstalled just as quick. It allows for use of a gooseneck/fifth wheel hitch and you can even throw your fourwheeler back there and not have to worry about what to do with your bed cover. I ran the truck through the carwash and I am pleased to inform you that it did very well compared to my extang trifecta that I had been running. There was VERY little water. The price isn't bad at all. Priced very competatively with it's competitors Fold a Cover and the like.

Check these guys out if you want one. www.truckxpressions.com

I believe they are open to group buys as well...if you get enough people together you can get them cheaper.

How does it open or lock shut? I don't see the latch, I guess it's flush mounted?

Where do the drain holes drain to? Does that require extra drilling or hoses to install for drainage?

I've got the 2-panel Advance folding cover right now and have been happy with it. It does allow a little bit a water in from the front and rear since there is a hole/slit in the stripping for the latch levers.

Brian is the guy who you want to get a hold of. He is a F150 guy as well...I'll find his screen name.
Dang dude, I said I won't be ready till spring!! But if I get a good deal, I may have to pull the trigger earlier!! (My nutz will be in a vise if I buy my BakFlip and don't get the wife something good for Christmas!!)

Thanks for the lead...

Latches are Underneath the cover...they are a cable that pull a latch on both side loose.

With drain tubes that go to the stake pocket holes. No drilling.

i have one on my 03 350, the only problem i have is that the lock rail bent down at the tailgate on the passenger side and it no longer locks. moral of the story is BE GENTLE and dont just slam it shut and always pull the rope when shutting it. other than that id buy another anytime, id say the only reason mines in such rough shape is that at the end of the day on a construction site, the integrity of the bak flip is not the biggest thing on the mind!!!

Can you open and close the tailgate without even touching the cover?

do you have to open your tailgate in order to access the cable to open/unlock the cover?

Yes, you can open and close the tailgate without bothering the cover.

Yes, you have to open your tailgate in order to access the cable to open/unlock the cover...SO...lock your tailgate and your cargo is secure. That's what I like.
