Show where you have your portable GPS mounted

I might be getting a GPS uint for Christmas and was just looking for some mounting ideas. Show me what you got!

When I had my Garmin 340c I had it window mounted on the top left of the windshield. I hid the power wire under the a-pillar panel and routed it through the dash to a power splitter. I got a photo somewhere on my other computer.

This is an old pic of my Garmin C330. Nothing was wrong with, but three weeks later when the nuvi's came out that were thinner and had a bigger screen I couldn't resist, so I got the new Garmin Nuvi 200W. Mounted same location

I just got a Garmin 200w for an early Christmas present, should be here by Friday.

What do you think of it? Do you have it in the same spot?

Got it in the same spot still. I like having the bigger screen. An accessory I'd get would be the case Garmin makes for it. Keep's the screen from getting scrated while not in use.

Garmin commercial came on while I was typing this.

I'm really interested to get my Nuvi 350. I should get it in the mail Monday or Tuesday. I got the friction pad and I'm curious to see if it will work in the middle of my dash where the rubber pad is. I will post pics when I get it.

Yeah my plan was to remove that rubber pad and see if it will work there with the window mount, it also said it comes with a dashboard disk which I assume would be some sort of sticky mount. I would just rather have it available to my right hand than my left.

Yeah, I would rather use my right. I also think it would look better there. Also if you have a co-pilot with you they would be able to help out while your driving. By the way my buddy has a truck just like yours... white 2tone, very sharp truck. That would have been my first choice if I wouldn't have had a budget that was a STX.

If you want to put it on the rubber mat Garmin makes a bean bag mount. Instead of the suction cup base this takes its place.

You can pick up all these great accessories and more at your local West Marine. Got to put the name out.

I wouldn't want it in the middle, because I'm a control freak. I don't like people touching my radio much less my nav unit.

You got a picture you can post? I have the same unit and would be interested to see your setup. Also, how do you have the power supply run? Thanks

I cut a piece of .063 aluminum plate to fit the top center cut out on the dash.It holds good and you dont have the power cord strung all over. Also I just set the whole thing on back floor when not in use. Garmin C 330.

I drilled a hole through the plastic tray and mounted a RAM ball from the bottom. The power and audio connection is routed through a smaller hole and is connected to a PIE adapter for turn by turn and MP3 playback through the stereo.

I have a picture of my mount in my picture gallery. https://www.f150online.com/galleries...133&anum=13789 Hard wired it so no wires are hanging out in the ciagrette lighter.

Here is a link for this mounting device.
