5.4 3V potential injector recall/extended coverage
Ford sent us a special service tool today, consisting of a set of cups/adaptors that fit onto the injectors of a 5.4 3V to test them for leakage I think, and a note to refer to recall 07M08 in regards to how it's used. I checked Ford's dealer website and the recall details aren't available just yet, but given that it's an "M" recall I'm sure it'll be some kind of extended coverage on injectors, and probably for any related damages from injectors sticking open (engines, catalytic converters, etc).
I don't have my camera with me right now, I'll take some pics of the rinky dink thing tomorrow and post them up.
ETA - Also, as an "M" recall, it's a good chance that Ford ain't gonna send out notifications to owners about this program, which is why I'm posting it. 'Cause that be booolsheet.

I got my notice today in the mail. It reads, in part,
The rest is about how long it will take, that the dealer may have to coordinate scheduling, that you should keep the letter, that if you have done this repair in the year/mileage window specified, you may be eligible for a refund, what to do if you no longer own the vehicle, and asks how FoMoCo can assist further.
“… FoMoCo is providing additional coverage under Customer Satisfaction Program 07M08 to owners of certain 2005 Model Year F-150, F-Super Duty, Expedition, and Navigator Vehicles equipped w/ 5.4L 3V Engines.”
“Reason: Fuel injectors in your vehicle may stick in the open or closed position. This condition could cause check engine light illumination along with hard starting or rough running, and in some instances could result in damage to other powertrain components. In the interest of customer satisfaction, FoMoCo is extending the limited warranty on the Fuel Injectors to a total of 11 years or 120,000 miles from the warranty start date, whichever occurs first. Coverage is automatically transferred to subsequent owners. This coverage exceeds the original warranty coverage provisions of your vehicle for this part.”

I got mine today, 11 years and 110K miles 
On my 02 ,while I still owned it, I got a letter extending the warranty on some kind of emissions part but it was only for 1 year or 12K miles. To extend this 11 years 
I actually had plained on replacing them after my warranty runs out but now I don't have to worry about that for some time

My 2005 Expedition is in the shop right now being repaired due to this problem. They found 3 injectors stuck open and will cover the replacement. However, the dealer says the spark plugs on those 3 cylinders are also bad and not covered by the warranty extension. The oil will also require changing due to all the fuel being dumped in the nonfiring cylinders and lets hope the pistons or cylinders are not scuffed. I'm also worried the catalytic converter was damaged by the raw fuel dumping out the exhaust. The dealer says it should be ready Monday, but I'm calling the customer hotline first thing Monday to find out if consequential damages will also be covered.

This floods the cylinder and makes it hard to start.
Have the dealer check it.

I've had my truck in 3 times for this problem and each time they have replaced 2 injectors. The last time I had it in, I asked the service manager to replace the remaining injectors and he told me Ford wouldn't allow it. So, now I get to take it back a 4th time when the final 2 crap the bed. What a great way to treat your loyal customers....
