Which brakes would you choose?
Which brakes would you choose?
After 56,000k on my 05 FX4, I am going to replace my pads/rotars. I was trying to decide between the Wagner Thermo Quiets, Car Quest Blues? And for rotars I was going to get some powerslot rotors. Which ones are better, and any other rotars that people have had good luck with? Also, I was just going to buy them online and have my old man and I put them on. Anyone have any links to buy the pads/rotars. Thanks!
I don't know anything about those rotors, I had to get mine in a hurry, so went with the Raybestos rotors from a local parts house. As far as pads, I don't think you can go wrong with either of those choices. I have almost 50,000 on my Thermo Quiets and they have been perfect.

the hawk pads ive heard nothing but good about them
for rotors chack out www.rotorpros.com i got mine there, drilled slotted and powdercoated for all 4 is $400. they work alot better then stock and are cheaper then stock and all other aftermarket rotors, and you dont have to wait a long time like powerslot

The CarQuest pads are awesome. I can't wash my truck here in NC (drought), and I take it to get washed once a month and the back factory brakes show more dust than the front Carquest. I think they stop the same as the factory.

EBC Ultimax slotted rotors and EBC 7000 series pads work completely awesome and literally zero dust! Very happy with the pads. Feel like brand new brakes every time you drive. Even pulling/braking with a trailer. Very happy with the Ulitmax rotors but what ever you do, DO NOT get the Ultimax pads. You can check out the rotors on the EBC web site.
Another vote for powerslots and ceramics.
It made a significant difference to my truck's stopping difference since purchasing em' earlier this year.
I don't know about the models from '05 and up but my model's brakes and the '04 models [I've ridden in/driven a few] are horrific!
Good luck.
