5.4L Spark Plug issue and Seafoam...
Okay here is my thought process. I have heard very good reports regarding Seafoam and restoring lost power, cleaning valves, etc... in higher milage engines due to carbon buildup. I understand the 5.4L spark plug breakage issue is due in no small part to carbon buildup along the shank of the plug...
Would it be beneficial to run Seafoam periodically as a fuel additive in order to insure that the carbon buildup is kept to a minimum or even removed prior to trying to extract the plugs?

ive used seafoam.. it works but magically i had 0 build up on my f150... other cars ive used it on has... but the 150 just let out a small puff nothing major and that was it.. but if the plug issue is due to carbon issues i would say it wouldnt hurt to use sea foam as a normal additive...

I learned about Seafoam from an independent garage back in the 90s who used it on 4 cylinder GM products when they were having a lot of problems with carbon buildup.

Well, my interest in Seafoam came about through word of mouth, and online research where the product appears to have about an equally good reputation with the Wynn's Xtend Engine Treatment, but without having to buy it in bulk from an oil jobber. When I worked as a mechanic at Firestone in the 90s, we used Wynn's as a top end cleaner (with the same results as people are reporting on the Seafoam), and drop half a can in the fuel tank as an additive, all part of the normal fuel injection tune up service.
Yeah, I know much of the automotive specialty chemical market is saturated with snake oil. If the Seafoam does what it is purported to do my independent sources though, what is the harm in using it?
MGDfan made his opinion clear. But really. I drink Shiner Bock anyway... Who can trust someone who drinks the same color he pees? (J/K, I used to drink MGD before I knew better...)

Oil Stabilizer? WTF is that? Is oil inherently Unstable ??? Just use the recommended oil/filter, change it regularly and move on. Good grief.
Anyone wanna PM me? I gots fresh stocks of stuffin'
