2008 stereo wiring harness

I am not getting any answers in the other forums. I know this is for a 2008 expedition but maybe someone would know.

I am installing a Pioneer AVH-p6600dvd in dash system in a 2008 Expedition that had a 6 cd headunit with sirius radio and no factory sub. The head unit seems to get constant power but not ignition power. I call crutchfield and they said I need to wire the 12v ignition wire into a fuse somewhere even though I bought the harness from them they didnt tell me that. They said the factory ford harness theirs plugs into doesnt have a 12v ig/acc hot wire. Is there any better way to do this other that wiring to the fuse box.

Ok...if there is no 12V ACC wire how does the unit know when to turn on and off? Also if you just wire in a 12v ACC switched wire somewhere your radio will turn on and off with the ACC switch...you need to hook it up were it will stay on until you open the door. I dont know about the Expy but I just put a Avic-D3 in my Super Duty and the ACC wire was part of the harness. The only thing that changed from my 04 to my 08 is the VSS wire (vehicle speed sensor...you only need that for GPS though.)

BTW on my 08 SD the ACC switched wire is grey with a purple stripe..

thats what I cant figure out why crutchfield said there is no acc connection on the ford harness, cause the factory stays on till the doors open. does anyone know which wire on the factory harness is the acc 12v
