A couple of new dash mods

Just installed the ScangaugeII and also modded the strange little block-off where I guess the drink holder is on some trucks. Extended out a little tray to make it somewhat useful.

Looks good !

You have any trouble seeing it there? (I put mine right on the steering column shroud - I found I needed a more 'line-of-sight' location).

New SGII? Does it have the X-gauge / add-a-gauge functionality? That upgrade was a pleasant bonus for an already great product.

:beers:

I bet it would be a lot easier to see on the shroud, but it's not too bad where I mounted it. I figure I'll be looking at it a lot for the first few weeks, and just occasionally after that, so I can live with it.

Yes, it has the X-gauge functions.

It's MDF - I used a router to thin down to tray part to about 1/16th and to shape the lip all round. You can't really tell in this picture, but the lip is the same width as the frame of the opening, tapering to a thinner edge at the front. The side lips were also shaped to make it all kinda' flow. I still need to get something better to line the bottom. That's just tool box liner in there now and doesn't look too good. Not a hard job, but still took me a couple of hours to shape it, sand it, prime and paint.
