Is it possible to get $12k-$13k off MSRP of 07's during this time of year?
Well for the record, and don't hold me to this because it's been so long, I got my truck when Ford had the Employee Discount thingymejigg going on and I ended up getting the truck for a little over 9K off the sticker.... or thereabouts.
But hey, I obviously got ripped off going by some people's "deal of a lifetime," right?
I don't really understand how dealerships work [I have a little info on it], but it beats the crap out of me how a dealership can make a profit by taking 12K-plus off the sticker price as many here claim.
FFS, even the popular "dealer holdback" is 2-3K at best, so where's their profit margin from?
Anyone care to enlight a fellow Ford owner?

Yes, it is very possible to get over $12K off the MSRP (Window Sticker), but probably not until the end of November/December. And, it will only be on '07 models actually on the dealers lot. I'm currently seeing ads in the paper for $11K off '07s, but it's on the XLT's.
For the record, I bought my '04 Screw Lariat 4X4 on December 30, 2004 for $12.5K OFF the MSRP. I knew there were several dealers in Houston giving $12.5K off on in-stock items and by chance ended up finding the exact one I wanted, to the tee. And yes, the 12.5K was before any cash was put down by myself.

Same here. I bought mine at Joe Myers in Houston and it was a FX4 that was on the lot. I got them to sell it to me at $12K+ off of sticker and I even made them give me a spray in bed liner! I'm one of the lucky ones I guess.
You guys are making me think I got rip off, I bought my 05 in Dec. 04 and paid 29,100 (not icl tax tag title) and sticker was 35,570. I though that was a deal but guess not, I did get 1.9% instrest tho.

I think many here are pissing on other's legs and trying to convince us a storms brewing.
I used the x-plan in 5/05 to get a fully loaded 05 Screw FX4.
That took 10,000 off the sticker (41,000 to 31,000)
Then 500 x-plan rebate
Then 3,000 in Ford rebates
= 13,500 off sticker
Then take another 7,500 off for paid off trade
= Out the door price of 20,000
can't beat that with a stick.....
like i tell my friends, start a cycle with your vehicles, keep'em for 5 years and never finance over 5 years and always put as much down as possible.. you'll be pleasantly surprised with the equity you have in your trade when you go to buy your next vehicle...
Anyway, remember Ford and many of the other US manufacturers started pulling back on their inflated MSRP prices starting in 06... so getting huge discounts off of MSRP prices is becoming harder....
