Post your turn down exhaust pictures!

I'm about to order my 2.5" Dynomax Bullets and Magnaflow X-Pipe but I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the tips or lack of tips.

Come on guys, I know you're out there. So lets see what those set-ups look like!

:beers:

i think it looks badass when you have dumped exhaust with a fat tip (5"+) if you are high enough. I think your truck could pull it off you are pretty high.

I like that kind of set-up too but I'm going to be running true duals so it'd look a little goofy with two big 5" tips down there!!

Just make it really loud!! A truck your size should really be loud!!!

weazel 09-04-2007 04:51 PM

just leave it the same, and do a muffler swap and add the x pipe!

well if you are going to go with tips i think i remember you went duals out the back because you were stock and that looked better but behind the rear wheels looked better lifted. so id say behind the rear wheels on your lifted truck. the tips on your last truck looked good. i like my setup too:thumbsup:

x2!! i think your tips look awesome, i love it straight out the back mine are that way too. just do muffler swaps. are you currently running 2.5" pipes all the way?? im about to do bullet true duals also.

How much does exhaust sound bother you. Without running the exhaust out the back of the truck.. it can get loud or drone inside the cab.

You could just use turndowns with tips on them... 3.5"-4" tips.

Tips change the sound somewhat.

Run regular turndowns and then add a couple cheap ebay tips.

LOL I think some of you are missing what I'm doing. I want to run them dumped underneath the truck.

I don't care about sound, I've got Nitto Mud Grapplers, the noise isn't going to bother me.

I'm running 2.25" tubing right now but I'm going to get it switched to 2.5" tubing.

dumped before the axle or after, either way i think tips are a waste of money on those set ups, i put a tip on mine after the axle, got lazy and now i looks liek ****, cant even tel there was a tip there to begin with!

I'm thinking about doing these tips turned down before the rear axle.

I am wanting to do something just like this on my 2 wheel drive. I am lowering my truck 2/5. What would be the best way to do it? Would I get aftermarket headers and go back from there with 2.5" tubing to the x-pipe, then back to the mufflers then dump? I am going to dump them before the axle. What would I do about the Cats, get hi-flow?

I think whatever you do you should try to get the big diameter starting as close to the muff as possible. I hate the look of a short fat tip hanging off the end of small tubing. You can still run the 2.5 inside the big tip as far as you want to keep performance. There are a ton of ways to go under there so it really depends on what diameter you want to end at. I don't know if it matters to you but the Magnaflow tips turn a bit gold (maybe all the ss do) and it really annoyed me with the chrome/black themed truck. I painted mine black and think it looks a little meaner. Why do you want to switch to dual 2.5 over the 2.25? Are you worried about losing low torque? I'd add the x and new muffs and then have the shop bend the 2.5 and run inside fat turn downs like this http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=1077 and weld the fatties right over the 2.5 right to the back of the muffs. Slash them where you felt necessary.
