154 Horsepower? Is this right?

Bear with me.....just checking some facts about my new truck and went to check out my VIN # at the Ford website:

https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp

And see that my 2007 F150 scab V8 5.4L only has 154 hp? Seems awfully low to me, or is that the norm for these trucks?

I can't follow the link since it just wants me to enter in a new VIN number. But, if you have the 5.4L than you're truck makes 300 chp / 365 c ft lbs.

The 3v 5.4 is rated at 300 HP which reduces down to around 220-240 at the rear wheels.

Sure can. The 4.6 has 52 HP and 71 lb/ft of torque less then the 5.4.

It very well could be, but a rough rule of thumb is rear wheel HP is about 80% of HP at the flywheel.

No his numbers are spot on. 260rwhp is about right for the "Big 3"

Not to mention a 20% drivetrain loss in our trucks and we'd be jumping for joy. I've found it to be closer to 27% for the majority.

at least, most of the new 3v 5.4s range from like 195 - 220 rwhp stock.

Thought so....

No way that link was right.....just thought it was weird why Ford would list a wrong hp number like that. Thanks for all the replies. I'm learning a lot from you guys.

Gee, I'd be pissed if I straped a supercharger on and my rig was making [only] 255-260HP.
