Got a New Transmission!

Well, Ford finally replaced my transmission. After threatening to use the lemon law they decided the best course of action would be to replace the tranny. I can already tell this one is doing much better than my old transmission that had been rebuilt 4 times. I still have a 5 month time frame to file a lemon law if this one should act up as well.

Also, what is the going rate for the 30K service. My dealer quoted me $522 for their service. I won't need the transmission service since I have a new tranny. Does this seem like $522 worth of work?

Change the oil
Install Oil Conditioner
Lubricate Chassis
Replace Air Filter
Rotate Tires
Inspect and Adjust Brakes
Transmission Flush Service
Service Battery
Flush Power Steering and Rack and Pinion Assembly
Fuel Induction Service
Flush Cooling System
Replace Fuel Filter
Vehicle Maintenance Inspection

Surprised the dealer wants to flush tranny, power steering, and cooling systems. Those aren't scheduled until much later (75-100k miles). The battery is supposed to be a no sevice battery as well, so not sure what service they will be doing to it. Fuel filter you should do yourself as it takes literally 10 minutes and the filter costs about $10. Same with the air filter and tire rotation, easier and cheaper to do it yourself.
Not sure what oil conditioner is?
Don't think our trucks require a chassis lube?
What is the Fuel induction service?

Glad you were able to get a new tranny, though.

Thats a fair price, if They actually do the work. I really dont think the power steering needs to be flushed, but everything else seems legit

Yeah, I think I'm just going to get these items done. This is all the scheduled maintenance guide requires at 30K. I don't need the transmission to be flushed.

Change Engine Oil and Filter
Lubricate Chassis
Replace Air Filter
Rotate Tires
Inspect and Adjust Brakes
Replace Fuel Filter

Fair price if they perform all the work mentionned in the list. As for the Oil Conditioner, the owner's manual warns against adding any additive to the engine.
