Dirty ass engine bay (someone please give him some cleaning tips...

But notice how much room there is without the stock fan and shroud in there

Fans mounted in place, we took the top of the radiator clips loose to be able to reach the bottom mounting pins for the fans, instead of taking the whole radiator out of the truck.

I just ordered the same headunit for my girlfriends car, did you get it from Sonic Electronix? LOL

So how much did you guys spend on the parts? We also need a parts list.

Patman Aug 23, 2007 10:20 PM

He spent roughly 150 on the entire fan kit and all the fixings, not counting my payment.

I think he spent about 500 shipped on the HU if i remember correctly :)

Jwool15 Aug 23, 2007 10:24 PM

Yea I got it from sonic. Lets see. I paid 40 a piece for the fans.. Then we got two relays and switches and 100 ft of wire i believe.. And two fan mounting kits. All in all it was about $160 bucks. Switches were like 5 bucks for both and the relays were about that. Wire was semi expenisve like 26 bucks.. You dont need 100ft we just used that much because we were going to mount some reverse lights but didnt have the opportunity. And the mounting kits were 17 a piece.

Next to the list is getting my chip from vmp. Then the reverse and bed lights and leds in the cab. Getting the bottom of my truck painted black and my mirrors and handles.. Mb motoring Senna 22's(black) wrapped in some pirelli's. And shackles in the back.. Hoping to get all of that done by christmas and the charger on by spring break (and cams:drool: )

No problem John. Pat neglected to mention the fans were blowing backwards first! If it hadn't been for me trying to mess with him and say there were haha. It got taken care of though.

Jwool15 Aug 23, 2007 10:28 PM

Haha yea I know right. Oh I forgot to add fire siren to the list of mods.. God I want a TA more than ever now. One of my buddies said he would trade me his semi modded TA for my bike and I'm strongly thinking about doing it.

Patman Aug 23, 2007 10:37 PM

yeah like i said it wasnt the smoothest or fastest install possible, but yeah.

The controller is 17.99
The mounting clips are 5.99 a piece
The relays were either 5 or 10
The switches were 2.99 a piece
and we spent about 10 on all the quick wire mounts, and the spade wire mounts

Nice write-up and good job. Just make him clean that poor dirty engine bay. I had a 71 F250 Camper Special that had a cleaner engine bay than that.

Pat, you're quite the handyman. Good job. Maybe next will be another 5.4. Are you beginning to like them yet?
