Lifted trucks.. How does it pull?
Trucks with 37s.. I'm going to be using my truck to pull a few arctic cat 650 quads to go riding on the weekends. How much of a pain is this going to be? I'm going to regear but probably not right off the bat. Maybe after a month or so of the lift and tires. But without re-gearing, then after re-gearing how much of a pain will it be to pull a 12' utility trailer with some quads on it?
And to combine in one post.... Will 38/13.5/20s or maybe even 15.5s fit on a 8" rize?
Thanks!

well i have 4.56's with 38x15.5R18 which is perfect due to 90% highway driving.
and i pull my jetski which is of course not = to a few artic cats, but ive also pulled my friends mastercraft and it does fine on the road and even uphills.
throttle response is still great and torque really kicks in well i think.
i pull pretty efficiantly.

You can make anything fit, shouldn't be too difficult at all to get the 38x15.5's to fit. Pat's running them. How heavy is the trailer w/quads? I tow about 3k lbs on the weekends + full load of people, it's not too hard with 37's and 3.73's but I wouldn't want to tow much more or my gas mileage would suffer pretty harshly. It's not too hard on the truck, but I also have several performance additions to compensate for the 37's. I guess that voids my opinion?
And put it this way, I got 37's to fit on a 6", you are getting 38's to fit on an 8", if these company's measured their lifts correct.

Tire fitment is almost completely dependent on wheel choice. I've got a Rize 8" with 20x10 4.5" BS wheels and with 37x13.50s they still rubbed. I had to do some trimming to get rid of it. I still rubbed on hard offroading and turning. Now I've got another 2" up front for 10" of lift and they don't rub at all.
Now onto the gears. If you're planning on towing it a lot, it would be a very good idea to do the gears. I'd suggest 4.88s especially if you're already talking about 38s. I've got 4.88s and 37x13.50 and LOVE the power low end. I lost top end power but not enough to regret it one bit but again thats coming from 37s and 3.73s, of course top end power is going to be great! I tow two jet skis with NO problems. Through the mountains, through the sand, anything, no problems.

thumper makes a good point about getting 4.88's
towing alot and with your weight 4.88's would be good
but also id look at if you do alot of backroad dirving or highway driving with or without towing.
i went with 4.56's due to mostly highway driving
i would have goitten 4.88's if it was all 45-65 mph driving

I'm not sure, maybe 5 1/2" inches. 38s are only going to make you sit half of inch taller. Why not throw on some adjustable Bilstein 5100s like I've got and get another 2" up front. Level out the rear with a bigger add-a-leaf, 4 inch. Put the 38s on there and not worry about rubbing even with the 4 1/2" backspacing.
