Paint or no paint

I know everyone may be sick of flare posts but here goes. I bought a set of Bushwacker non pocket extended flares and was wondering opinions on painting them or leaving them black. Truck is 2 tone Silver with DSG. The FX4 flares are black so I thought they might blend well in black but have seen pocket ones painted and they look good. I am not too happy that the bids for paint have been 5-6 hundred either. Any suggestions or pics would be great.

Great post...

I was wondering if I should just NOT paint mine either. After all the high prices of painting.
My truck is black with the dark shadow grey at the bottom. The flares are the PTM dark grey color.

I love the painted look but wondered if it maybe better to not paint them.

I am worried about rock chips and road grit wearing on the paint.

How is everyone's flares holding up that are painted?

I'd like you to paint them so I can see what it looks like. I have a silver w/ DSG 2-tone too and want to get DSG Bushwacker fender flares.

Honestly, I think they would look much better painted DSG for your truck than the black/grey color they come in.

I think they should hold up fine. I had a 2004 Lariat with almost 40k miles and the factory painted flares looked like new. The inside of them kind of appeard sandblasted towards the bottom rear, but on the outside they were fine.

I thought you said you had a huge picture of a truck, not a picture of a huge truck. Jeez... that thing is gigantic.

Hey why don't you add your gallery number to your profile? Click on "UserCP "above, then click on "Edit Profile", and add your gallery number (8015) to the bottom field.

Also, I hate to hijack. Reply through PM if you wish. How do you like your clear bra? Did you install it yourself or have it done? What pieces did you have done? How is it holding up? How much $$$?
