Question Anyone using the Hypertech or Superchips tuners?

Just wanted to see how many here are using these tuners and get your impressions of them. After reading about all the issues here with the Edge tuner and talking locally with people I refuse to go near it. If you guys could help me educate myself as to the other options available it would be greatly appreciated, especially if your using it or know someone who is. Thanks.

Get the Edge. WTF you're "scared" to get it cause of all the horror stories. There are also many satisfied Edge customers. l say go get it, if it works you are going to be more than happy with it. If it doesnt send it back and get the superchips. OR you could just skip all the BS and hit up Troyer Proformance. Ive heard nothing but good things about those guys

IF the Edge works I'll be more then happy with it, if it doesn't send it back? Some of the "horror" stories I've heard are from people that have used the Edge and had the programming damaged on the PCM. The only way they could get the truck running again was to take it to the dealer and get it reprogrammed. Thanks but no thanks, just not worth the risk.

Score thusfar:

Troyer 4
Edge 1/2 (not a solid recommendation)

The Edge is simple to use and the gauges make it that much better. Seeing that your truck is an 04 you should'nt have any issues. When I got my Edge my Hex code was not yet supported. Yeah it was a PITA but in the end it worked out well. Edge comes out with updates all the time, just as Ford comes out with new Hex codes all the time. I never had a "brick" truck issue. I asked my dealer how much a pcm flash is and the tech told me $50. The question is how bad do you want it??? If you want it done right call up TP fill out the worksheets and spend the next 6 weeks stalking the UPS man You want something real quick checkout E-bay or the classifides here, there are always a couple Edges for sale. If it doesnt work on your truck you should have no problem selling it.

Sorry Ftruck, but your argument just doesn't float my boat. Maybe the Edge will work with no problems, it's just not a risk I'm willing to take. A properly designed tuner should be a plug and play deal. Download the program and enjoy the ride. The Edge is too much of a crapshoot, maybe it will work maybe it won't.

Yo, Tbird, buddy - listen to these guys, and a fellow Canuckian - you will not be sorry, nor will you ever be left without exemplary after-sale support.

For last5oh_302 - you got that right !

Cheers
Bubba

Ha!
Amen, and with the extra 20+ rwhp/torque you'll get with the Xcal, why even give it a second thought?
